How has science affected us? Our culture, our religious values and our traditions? What do you feel... how according to you our present day religious and holy life has become due to the advent of technology and science and thereby its increasing effects on almost all the spheres of our lives..... our culture too.... Or do you think that the two are total different things and have nothing in common to do away with... Share your views about "Religion and Science???"

it's true science has influenced modenr day religions and cultures. but it didn't neccesarly diminushed their importance. and why can't science and religion coexist? i mean everybody body is free to belive in whatever they want. if oyu want to belive in god, it's your choice and yours alone.

Hi, You've come up with a very good discussion point and coincidentally one that I've been reading abit about at the moment. I have always been one to question everything and must admit i'm not religious in the sense of believing there is a god. I prefer to rely on science facts rather than what I have been told or learned at school in religious education. I do think in years to come science will prove either way about our religious beliefs, although whether this will change peoples thinking is a different matter!

Through history, our scientific development wasn't enough to explain most things, so humans have used religion as a way to explain what surrounds us, what we cannot understand. But with time, more and more mysteries have been solved, so religion's use in that aspect has been reduced. I am not saying religion is useless nowadays, but there are many things that were only explained by religion that nowadays can have a rational explanation. That's why some religious people, especially the most radical ones of all creeds, are reluctant to accept the benefits of science...they regard it as a certain menace. Like Evolution theories in Christianism, for example. Fortunately, most people are more reasonable than that and don't see such clash between science and religion.
