Are they replacing Daniel Radcliffe?

What I heard was that he is starting to look too old to play Harry, and a lot of people have a problem with that. Don't know if they will boot him from the series or not, though...

no, I had not heard this; although if they did it, it would be completely unfair to him. He is older now, and ofcourse will get different types of roles. I am sure he is sick of being typecast as potter; and wants to expand his horizons. I give him praise for showing courage to go "out of the box"

I really don't think they'll replace him. He's the Harry Potter of the movies. People wouldn't watch if he wasn't in it.

I belive this is a rumor, many rumors have been going on for a long time. Considering that the 5th movie is already made, and only two left to film..unless something happens to Daniel I don't think they will replace him. It would also be a terrible thing to do because I know many, myself included, who would not continue watching the series if they decided to change the actor of one on the main characters, let alone the main character. (I had a hard enough time getting over the new Dumbledore..I apparently am not a big fan of change :)

I hope it's not true! Replacing him would be a bad idea, I think he's a good actor and he's our Harry Potter from the beginning.

yeah, that's insane! they couldn't replace daniel radcliffe as harry potter in the film cause that wouldn't be harry potter at all without him! people are used to him as being harry potter, he grew up with the role so if they replace him, i think it would be sooo much different at all and the movie's earning would definitely drop, believe me.

i do not think so. the new harry potter movie trailer is already being shown! it is just a hype, don't believe what the writers are saying. they do this to hype the movie.

I very highly doubt that they will replace Daniel Radcliffe. Contractually it would be a bad idea, as I'm sure they have had him sing on for the full ride. I also think the JK Rowling Has aked that the actors stay the same so the age progression would be more dramatic. Also, he's an actor. Anyone in entertainment should understand that actors will accept other roles (especially an amazing like the one in Equus) In addition to one that may already have appeared in. I would be very dissapointed if Daniel Radcliffe has been cut. I have a lot of doubt about this happening.

I had heard of this, but it seemed like just a rumor with nothing to really back it up. I know WB was somewhat displeased with Daniel's appearance in Equus, though, so that's probably where the rumor came from? I think it would be pretty terrible if they replaced him now, especially when it seems like he's coming into his own as an actor, which will help him to play Harry as the plot grows more intense.

Hmmmm, recasting him so late in the game sounds pretty risky to me. He has quite a devoted fan base and I think there would be an uproar. As for the play he is appearing in, it is quite a famous and critically acclaimed play. I don't think it would be fair if he got punished for expanding his acting experience. It can be very hard to make it after being known as a child actor, so he gets nothing but kudos from me for it. There are always recasting rumors. Especially around the girl who plays Hermione thinking about leaving the films. Hopefully they will just think of ways to make Daniel Radcliff look younger and Emma Watson won't be able to say no to the money. Besides, for those of us who remember 90210, they had people in their 20s playing high school students. I suppose it could be done.

Really? I haven't really heard this rumor but if they do it would be completely unfair to Daniel. I don't think there is anyting wrong for him to want to further his career by venturing into more mature roles. He is growing up after all. And I agree with you, it would be insane for them to do these because fans would expect to see his face when they watch later Harry Potter movies. It just wouldn't be the same if they replace him.
