Would you take a substantial pay cut for a better job?

A couple of days ago I saw an ad for a job which I would really love to have. However, the salary they pay is $10000 less per year than I get for my current job.
In my current job I have some good days and some bad days but on the whole it is not a bad job.

If I am not happy with the current job, not salary wise but other factors like responsibilities, types of collegues or boss, then I may take up a job which might be less in remuneration but better on the above issues. Also if the new company has better rules and regulations and better facilities...if it is a much more systematic and professional company, I may go for a pay cut. For your case, I think it is better for you to stay in the same company as you seem to be happy with your present job.

I wouldn't take a pay cut for a better job, because I really can't. I have a lot of debt, student loans and such. However, if I could afford it, I would do it.
I wonder if there is a job out there similar to the one you would love to have that pays better? Or maybe you could figure out if you could cut back on some things to be able to afford the pay cut. The starting salary might even be open to negotiation.
If you think you'd be a lot happier, it's worth considering. I'd take the possible stress from having less money into account when considering this, though.
