Are Any Other Guide Bothered By All The Prank Searches Lately?

I'm a ChaCha guide, and have been since January. I've noticed that the searches have been mostly all pranks lately or incredibly abusive. I've also noticed an increase in trainers being rude and stand-off'ish or trying to milk the system and dragging out the training sessions as long as possible. While I love the opportunity that ChaCha provides for me to make extra money from home, these problems have caused me to become a bit disenchanted with the whole thing. When I do log on, its only for a few minutes at a time because I get so frustrated with what is going on. Do any of you other guides feel the same way? If so, what have you done to ease the frustration?

I am new. I just started two days ago. But I am honestly amazed at the number of prank queries. I am in training still. But I keep getting a lot of crazy search requests. It is very frustrating, because I am trying to learn the ropes and I certainly dont need people posting prank queries and the like.

I am actually wondering if I am getting more because I am in training.

Yes, I am a guide and annoyed by the pranks as well! Not only that but chacha is now researching our past searches and deactivating any accounts of people who went along with pranks or whatever. So now the guides are even having to pay for the pranks. Rude trainers are the reason if took me almost 50 searches to promote to pro! They were so rude and offered no help whatsoever! When I train others now I try really hard not to come off that way!

I thinks its unfair of ChaCha to just deactivate accounts. I think if they find a guide's behavior to be questionable, they should contact the guide and see if there is a reasonable explanation. I'm also annoyed by the fact that even though you come up with great search results and offer great customer service, an info seeker or trainer can still rate you negatively with no explanation as to why they chose to do so.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one getting annoyed with all the pranks! I was on yesterday & the amount of people that were calling me obscene names was starting to get horrifying! I reported them all...but then that makes ChaCha look into my activity & if they feel I did 1 little thing wrong, I could be deactivated! I have had a few really rude trainers as well which is why I haven't added any new keywords in a while. But I try to be really nice when I'm training people. They're supposed to have a "rate the trainer" system in place soon. Hopefully that will solve some of the problems. Now if only we could get rid of the dumb pranksters.

I'm waiting for the "rate a trainer" to be in place before I even think about getting back on to do searches again. As for the pranksters, I think there should be a way to track their IP addresses or something to keep those people from being able to continually abuse the system.

It is very frustrating that people are doing prank searches and being very rude but I just keep telling myself that (hopefully) they'll all just get bored of doing the same thing every day and leave us alone. As far as the trainers go, I've never had a rude one and I myself do my best to train others so I can only hope that that doesn't last long. Hang in there!

oh yeah i so know what you mean. last weekend i kept getting this one search for weird al. i got the search like 5 times, i thought maybe it was the same person, but i know it wasnt. they all wanted something different, all were pranks. it was getting really annoying. also with trainers, i had a trainee like a week ago, and he was just out right rude. i told him to hold on cause i needed to look at the last result he had (my daughter also woke up and i had to put the bunky back in her mouth) and he thought i was trying to milk it for more time. well for one it had been 10 mins.. why the hell would i milk for more time when we only get paid for 6 mins now!

According to the last ChaCha update, it looks like they are trying to resolve the issues with the prank searches and rude trainers. Personally, I haven't been able to bring myself to log on lately. I'm waiting till they have the new systems in place before I try again.

Lately if I get a rude trainer, I've been closing out the session without even sending results. I read in the forum that if you do that they can't rate you.

i logged on today, and i was getting really annoying trainers! they asked me to find the stupidest things! one they asked me to find something.. i could only find one site, then told me really rudly that other sites have info about it, but i would have had to look it up differently. pretty much told me to find another topic, but made me out to be the stupid one rather then them

I'm also a chacha guide. I'm at master level. I have noticed trainers that milk the system and/or are impatient, rude, and impolite. If I find trainers behaving this way, I just make sure there are no results and end the session. When I am training other guides, I talk immediately. I do not wait for the other guide to say hi so I can milk the system. I say, "Hi. What is your guide level?". Then wait for their response. Then ask them to find information on their keyword. While they are finding it, I tell them to let me know if they have any questions. If it's a new guide, I spend a little longer with them to make sure they understand and comfortable with the guide application. ChaCha needs to do something about the time limit so we are not working for free. That's what I am concerned about. We should get paid for our efforts.

I agree with you. When I train, I try to get it done as quickly as possible so that it doesn't seem like I'm milking the system. I'm kind of glad that they changed the time limit on training and searches as well; I think that will help get searches done quicker.

I can not imagine how annoyed you are. I just hit Pro level and in the last 15 minutes I have declined at least 8 prank searches. I don't understand why anyone would even bother playing pranks on someone who isn't in front of them.

Do you think that most of the pranks come from just one place? How many guides do they need to bounce off of before they just disappear?

I wish ChaCha would come up with a better way to deal with the prank searches. I think if they implemented an IP tracking and blocking device, it would cut down on the prank searches immensely.

I definitely think that a lot of the pranks are from the same users over and over. There's another discussion here on MyLot about a former ChaCha guide and the negative experience he/she had while working for them. After reading that discussion and going through some other links I can definitely see the disadvantages to working for ChaCha. I'm still deciding whether or not it's worth it to keep working for them.

Ok, I was getting mad about all the pranks....but I've decided I'm gonna deal with it & have fun on ChaCha. LOL I just say all kinds of stupid stuff & tell them to stop being an idiot & then say "bye". LOL I haven't gotten in trouble for it. So this is how I'm going to handle it. They think they're gonna get on ChaCha & make all the guides look like idiots while they're playing their games...well, I'm going to make them look like idiots 1st. That's how I'm handling this whole prank thing.

Yes, I got the e-mail about how they're going to be monitoring more closely now. I don't say bad things...just stupid things. LOL Like today, I got an idiotic search. The person asked if I was fake & since the search was for something I can't repeat here I said "yes me fake, hahaha bye" LOL

It seems like ChaCha will be monitoring the searches more closely. Just be careful of what you say. I would hate to see you get deactivated over a couple of silly prank searches. Good luck though!!

I am also new to Cha Cha and have been discouraged at the amount of prank search requests. It is clear to me that somewhere some kids are home with nothing else to do. The thing that bothers me the most was the rude trainers. I thank you for the tip on not having results and closing out so they can not rate you. I got my first bad rating today and it was a prank of course. I did not know about deleting the results then closing out. I thank you for that. Good luck, and they did start the rate the trainer yesterday (yeah!)lol

I didn't know about the trainers or pranksters not being able to rate if there were no results until I read it in the ChaCha forum. If you get a chance go ahead and check out the forum. There are tons of good tips and tricks there. Glad to hear that the "rate a trainer" is back in place. I think I'll venture over and run some searches later on today. :)
