I enjoy a variety of different music styles. lately i seem to only listen to music from the eighties and early nineties. Old Depeche Mode, Prince and stuff like this - songs from when I was in my prime partying age. What about you? Do you listen to music from way back when, or are you up to date and listening to new music?

I feel u! I also love a VARIETY of musical styles, but I must say that the music of the late 80's and early 90's sounds A WHOLE LOT BETTER than the music that is current 2-day, in ALL GENRES! Prince was my favorite in the 80's, and he's my favorite artist of ALL TIME! He's like NO OTHER! I enjoyed various styles in the 80's! I liked Depeche Mode as well. In addition 2 them, some of my 80's favorites are Sade, Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley, Phill Collins, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Tears 4 Fears, The Police, Sting, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Ready 4 The World, Cyndi Lauper, Art Of Noise, Run DMC, EPMD, L.L. Cool J, Eric B. & Rakim, KRS-1, Public Enemy, Special Ed, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, New Edition, Guy, Al B. Sure!, Keith Sweat, and my favorite artist at the end of the 80's, Bobby Brown! In the early 90's, I still loved Bobby, as well as Bell Biv Devoe, En Vogue, TLC, Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Shai, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., A Tribe Called Quest, Kam, Redman, and others. Even the mid-2-late 90's had better music, like Jewel, Alanis Morrissette, Sarah McLachlan, Usher, Aaliyah, Brandy and others. R.Kelly is another favorite of mine, who's continued 2 make good music, from the early 90's 'til now. There are a few acts of 2-day that have decent music, but, on a whole, I feel that music, in general, has spiraled, and IS CURRENTLY, spiraling DOWN, slowly, but surely! I don't get the same feeling from the music of 2-day AT ALL! With a few exceptions (like Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Jay Z, Ludacris, Eminem, 50 Cent, Beyonce, and Destiny's Child), overall, I'm NOT moved by it in any way! So, I'm with u! I'm "old school" all the way!

I listen to ALL kinds of music. Country, classical, classic rock, new age, folk, instrumental, techno, you name it! Other than Garth Brooks and Meat Loaf, I have no particular favorite artists because I'll listen to ANYTHING! However, I LOATHE seeing remixes done of my favorite songs, especially those "down-tempo/soundscape" remixes. I don't think they achieve expansiveness like other people rave about - I think it conceals the song's original foundation and the vocals and acoustics get lost in the shuffle (odd, I like the mega-layered effect in photoshop but not in music!). Other than that, I love EVERYTHING. I typically like non-mainstream better than mainstream.
