How frustrating would it be that your luggage went on vacation but you never got

off the ground?
They showed literally thousands of stranded luggage from the recent winter storm and people just searching around for theirs. Most of the people never got off the ground, but their luggage somehow got there. How crazy is that? LOL
Have you ever been a victim of lost luggage? How did they handle it for you?

Thankfully so far that has never happened to me ...I always bring one suit of clothing in my "large" handbag when I board just in case this did happen ...I have heard hooro stories about the airlines losing peoples luggage and i don't want to get caught with nothing ...lol

Hi! Yes, my sister taught me that as well. She taught me to always carry a bag with personal items on the plane with me so I can brush my teeth, take a shower, change my undies, etc, in case the airline loses my bags. It's good advice. I always carry undies and socks in my bathroom bag (that's what I call it LOL) on the plane with me. :-)

Dont they put the luggage on the underbelly of the plane that you travel on ? so if the plane left with the luggage, how come the people couldnt get on ? i would be so mad if an airline lost all my stuff. i always put anything important on my carry on.

You know, I could never understand that either but I guess technically it does not necessarily fly WITH you just to the same place as you. Perhaps it depends on total weight, etc. and some luggage goes on other planes because your plane is at weight or something. I could never understand it either. Logic to me is I go on plane A and my luggage goes on Plane A underneath! LOL

Hi! We had that happen to us! LOL My hubby and I were going from Phoenix to Las Vegas. I told my hubby to tip the guy who took our luggage when we were dropped off at the airport, but my hubby said you don't tip those guys. Well, we got to Vegas and guess what, no bags! To top it off, we had gone from Phoenix to Los Angeles to Vegas (always ask where the bargain basement flights are going! LOL), so we didn't know where the bags could have been. We reported the loss at the Las Vegas airport, and we found out the bags never made it onto the plane in Phoenix! LOL We told them where we were staying and the hotel delivered the bags to our room as soon as they arrived.
Lesson learned, tip everyone and anyone who handles your luggage! LOL :-)

I feel so sorry for all of the stranded travellers over the past weeks with the winter storms going on, especially since many of them were trying to get to a tropical resort somewhere to escape this mess! US Airways lost my luggage once when I was travelling from Buffalo to Manchester, NH to visit family. The weather was bad on the east coast, and I got stuck in NY City for about 18 hours. After many cancelled and delayed flights, I got there but my luggage didn't. After 24 hours they still had not located my luggage, so I got a check from them for toiletries and some clothing, and they gave me another check after the 2nd day because it was winter and I needed warm clothes. I can't remember how much the checks were for, but it was actually a reasonable amount if I recall right. The luggage got there after 2 1/2 days; I have no idea where it spent those days, but at least I got it.

I was the victim of lost luggage, well it wasn't luggage it was my sons car seat. We made along with our luggage but his car seat didn't make it. The airline provided us with a carseat that was filthy and didn't sit in the rental car properly ended up holding him on my lap. It did finally arrive and the airport drove it out the nest day which was 45 minutes from the airport, but I was still angry that it had been lost and the replacement was unacceptable.:)

We had just landed back home in San Diego, and found out that two of our checked luggage was lost. It was my husband's and my son's bag's. The airline, tracked our luggage and when they found it (two day's later) they sent it to use by courier.
