Call From One Of My Daughters Today - Too Sweet To Not Share

Mardi Gras Beads - Happy Fat Tuesday Momma

Today was my birthday, and it was not one that I had been looking forward to. I turned 59; and in my mind, that is about the same as saying I turned 60. Now, to a lot of people that is "Just the Prime"; and I would agree. In my case though, at 60 I will be the oldest living person that I know of in my family ancestry. I try not to be a fatalist; but this is really looming heavily over me since my health is not the best as it is. I had told all of my family that I just wanted the day to pass unacknowledged. It's just too scary for me to deal with right now. I just want to celebrate all of the other February birthdays we have: One daughter on the 10th, one daughter on the 25th, one daughter on the 12th, and one grandson on the 15th. That is more than enough to keep me deliriously happy (not to mention broke!)LOL!This evening I received a call from one of my daughters. When I answered she just said, "Happy Fat Tuesday, Momma!" How much sweeter does it get?~Donna

Many years ago my aunt was having problems dealing with her upcoming birthday. I can't remember what milestone she was about to encounter, but she was not having a good time with it. My mother made her a cake that said "Batty Hatchday" My aunt was thrilled with the cake. My dear Donna....I wish you a Batty Hatchday. Huggers to you.

Well then, Happy Fat Tuesday! :) I know what you mean about a lot of birthdays in one month. Once Valentine's day hits, we have a birthday every two weeks for two months straight! My partner's birthday is Valentine's Day. Child number 3 is March 5th. Child number 1 is March 16th. Child number 2 is March 29th. Child number 7 is April 18th. Then in between there, my sister is march 9th! We get small break over the summer with just a couple of birthdays outside of my household. Then we start all over again.... Child number 4 is August 10th along with my best friend/adopted sister/kindred spirit. :) Child number 5 is September 2nd. Child number 6 is September 12th. And I am September 17th. So, birthdays in my house is like two waves that keep us broke during that time frame also. LOL

All those happy days in your family, one right after the other! Now that's a lovely thing for you, Donna :) Your daughter sure sounds like a sweetheart. We used to call August "birthday month" in my family. We had my Dad on the 10th, grandfather on the 12th, grandmother on the 14th, my sister on the 15th, other grandfather on the 22nd... it was non-stop cake, I tell ya! Weeeeeeeee! LOL So, respecting your wishes, I hope you won't mind if I wish you "Happy Non-Stop Cake!!" Enjoy it ;)

Oh Donna, that is so sweet! You truly have an adorable, wonderful, loving daughter. And hey, if you've already lived almost longer than anyone else in your family history that you know of, that must mean that you're doing something right - you're bound to live a long time to come! I wouldn't worry about it, although I understand your wish to leave the day unacknowledged. I hope that you have a wonderful, but uneventful (in a good way) day! ^_^
