I've been in a few long distance relationships before. The longer it was, i realized, it doesnt seem to work out in the end. It's difficult to maintain and both parties must be really dedicated and committed to make things work no matter how far the distance. Have you ever been in a long distance relationship? Did it work out for you? How'd you manage to make things work? If things didn't work out, what factors prevented you to end up with your partner?

i think it is very situational. it's up to the couple if they'll work it out even with long distances. if they really love each other, they will find way for that love no matter what it takes and they will trust each other because i think that's the most important element of long distances relationship, trust.

i think it is possible, a friend of mine is already about to get married next year and their still at a really long distance, from one end to the other lol he's from here and his gf is at new york. and they've been together for almost 7 or 8 years already. although it really requires commitment, patience and perseverance for both. he makes sure she'd have no reason to doubt him or vice versa. he said always letting her know what he does so that if a relative sees him and tells her, she knows about it. i've had one but not that far, it's at my same country, but also from the very south of our country and i'm from the north near the capital. Have to ride to plane to manila (capital), then to cebu (captial of our 2nd island, visayas), and have to ride another plane or ferry boat to their place (3rd island, mindanao). but i guess i wasn't capable since we only lasted for about 4 months

i agree it's quite possible. my husband and i used to be in a long distance relationship but we decided to be together rather than stay apart. so, we ended up getting married. :)

I've never been in one, but I know it's very difficult. I've witnessed a few relationships wither and die. It's hard enough to keep the flames burning when you see each other often, moreso when you don't see each other.

I have a boyfriend whose very far from me, it's about a million miles away. But were still keeping in touch. Everyday, i receive emails from him. Communicating by chat. I guess, it's the communication that gives our relationship become strong. Without lying to each other, still true to one another, sharing not only happy events but also sad/bad events in our lives. It will work and i'm pretty sure were still in love and still need each other..
