Witnessed any pet heroics firsthand?

Last summer I was at a buddie's house playing some Xbox. He had just inherited a kitten. He also has a pitbull (I forgot which kind), and this dog is the coolest dog I've ever been around. Some of the antics this dog does are hilarious, for he thinks he's one of the guys. Anyways, the kitten ran out the little doggie door before any of us had noticed. Suddenly, his pitbull darted out the same door, and we noticed that because it made a good deal of noise. My buddy leaped from his chair, opened the door and screamed for his dog. Little did he know, his pitbull went after the kitten, which had wandered out into the street. My buddy quickly called the guys to the window, and we all watched his pitbull run out into the street, pick the kitten up by the back of his neck, and retreat back into the house. The pit dropped the kitten at my buddy's feet, curled up on the couch, and looked at the tv, acting as if nothing happened. It was the coolest thing I've ever seen an animal do. Has anybody else ever witnessed something of this nature firsthand?
