This new game show will debut next tuesday evening after American Idol and they named it "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?". I saw the previews this evening while watching American Idol and it looks funny and makes me wonder how much we remember from back when we were that young. It tests the adults knowledge of school subjects and information that 5th graders are learning. Here is the link to the website about this new game show.

Sounds interesting - 5th grade was such a LONG time ago. It would be so embarassing if I couldn't answer some of the questions.
Is it my imagination or are there alot more new quiz shows this year?

I think the quiz shows are getting a bit out of hand lately. I do agree with you that there are a lot more and there will probably be more. They are always finding ways to make more tv or quiz shows. It would be embarrassing not being able to answer questions that our children know. :-) It was a long time ago since fifth grade for me too.

Sometimes, I know that a 5th grader is smarter than I am. I have never heard of the new show that you mentioned. I dont watch game shows but this one may be the exception. Oh it is on FOX. I dont get FOX Thanks for letting us know about it

I have heard very little about this show, but I have heard bits and pieces about it. Since we no longer get FOX right now, sadly I'll never get to see it. Unless I hook up the antenne to do so.
How is it?

I think it has been very good and very entertaining so far and hope they continue to show it. It brings back memories of the fifth grade but do not remember learning some of the things they have asked. The kids have rescued the adults on numerous occasions already. I think you would like it.

I saw the previews too and thanks for the link. I'm curious to find out how that show will turn out too. My granddaughter is a fifth grader so I'm sure we'll get a lot of laughs from this show. Watch and see, she will probably show all of us up as to how smart she is, LOL.

You are very welcome for the link as they are supposedly going to put more things on there eventually. It sounds funny and interesting and wonder how many adults will be embarrassed on tv. :-) I bet that your granddaughter would probably be able to answer more of these questions than us.

I'm planning to watch it with my 5th and 6th grade daughters. I just hope I don't get embarrassed. I'm sure many of us have forgotten many things that we learned back then. For me, it's over 30 years ago. I bet there are some things in the books that weren't there then.

lol, I remember starting a topic about this show awhile back when i read a news article about how it was going to be on TV soon. It sounds like a pretty funny concept. I'm not as into the game show format as I used to be, though, so I'll probably just take a peek and not keep watching unless it really grabs my interest. But I like the idea of the show. I wonder too how much I actually remember from my school days, lol. It sure has been awhile since then! ^_~

I have watched the show!!!!
I am guilty... and twice... I find it funny, actually
And it is very funny to see those adults assume they know when they don't ... LOL
But apart from math, I must confess I had some trouble remembering stuff as well! We once learn those things and then, since we don't use them, we just forget!
Anyway, they say you start losing brin cells as early as 20! NO wonder we are not smarter than 5th graders!!!!
