Why are people so quick to believe what they see on the internet?

I have been looking at lots of discussions on this site and I am amazed by how people seem to assume that things that are posted on internet sites must be true. Tell them that there is a conspiracy and you must be an expert and correct. Tell them that you will make a lot of money. They will believe you and send you money. Do people still think about things these days? Or must the web be correct? It is easy to set up a website and get a domain name - it does not make you an expert and does not mean that what you are saying is true.

What you said with the domain name is true. Many assume "Oh, i is not hosted on a one of those free hosts, it MUST be legit. I have to admit I sometimes fall for that too. Not being too scientific but humans react on other people. We are social people (why else is there internet?) such as when a person yawns, we tend to yawn. Although I don't believe "everything" I risk trying it out. It's not so much as of "It is gonna work for sure!" but more of "I am gonna try this and lets hope it works". -Andy
