Where is your favorite vacation destination? Do you prefer to go overseas, or is there somewhere in your own country that you prefer?I absolutely LOVE Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, and especially Lake Louise. It's a wonderful place right in the Rocky Mountains with many different hiking trails in the Summer, and some excellent skiing in the Winter.
Where do you like to go?

My favorite vacation destination is boracay voted as among world's best beach and asia's best beach as well.
Summer is 2 months away here in my country (philippines) and I really keep on hoping that I can go back there for it was a really nice place white sand all over the place and a crystal clear water.
I've been in boracay for almost 4 times but I keep on going back there for I really love the place so much.

Maribel, it looks stunning! I'm jealous LOL.
Summer is still a good few months away here in BC but we have awesome summers so makes any journey worthwhile.

Right now it would be the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I love shopping so I could shop for a week straight and still not be done. I would go overseas too. So far I haven't been out of the country. I would go to Greece. It would be nice and relaxing. It's a beautiful country.

I'v visited Corfu which is one of the Greek Isles and it's a wonderful place. The people are so friendly and make you feel right at home. The beaches are clean and sandy and the ocean is wonderfuly warm.
A true paradise.

Am here in the Philippines, and yeah like most people I also dreamed of spending a week or two in a lovely vacation place overseas, and am considering Paris. But at the back of my mind, I believe I better have to have to enjoy the beautiful vacation places we have here in the country which I haven't gone to yet like Boracay. I have a couple of friends who have gone there and they tell me it's really a good place for relaxation.

Yeah, I think I had someone mention Boracay on another of my threads - if I remember rightly.
They posted a picture of it too and it looks absolutely beautiful. I'm not into relaxation so much although I do enjoy being at the beach every now and again.
I much prefer to be doing something such as hiking and enjoying Nature around me.
Given a choice between lying on a beach surrounded by squabbling kids, or being at one surrounded by total silence and tall majestic mountain peaks, I know which I'd choose lol.

For me it has to be the city of water,Venice.I have read that venice has water everywhere with 400 bridges connecting the whole city.It sounds quite unbelievable.I would also like to see the art and architecture ,that we have read about, with my own eyes. But,their biggest attraction is seemingly becoming the biggest threat for the city as I have read the water level is rising in the city.I hope they find some way to counter it.It sounds so magnificent in ''The lands and people'' and I find it hard to believe that any place could be so beautiful that your heart will stop beating, lol.

I too never used to believe in the saying that anywhere could be so beautiful as to make your heart stop beating, but it is, in fact, true lol.
Although I'd seen pictures of Lake Louise in Banff National Park (see photo attached to this post) I have to say that photos could never do it justice.
To see with my own eyes, the early morning sun rising slowly up over the lake, and the red rays hitting Victoria Glacier on the mountain behind was just unbelievably stunning.
A once in a lifetime experience that I'm SO glad I got to see.

I've been to Europe once and I'd love to go back. The last time I went to England & Ireland. Next time I'd repeat those two countries and add on Italy.
Mostly when I can take a vacation in this country, I prefer winter vacations. I don't like the sun all that much and summer is too busy a time to take off anyway. If I'd had a good year this year which I unfortunately did not, I'd be in Killington Vermont right now.

I actually want to go to Italy too.
One of my lifelong ambitions is to go and see the Roman Coliseum. There's something so hauntingly beautiful about the structure. I've seen it so many times on television, and I'd love to see the real thing.
My partner says we may do Italy for our honeymoon, so I may make it there yet.

Here in the States , I would like to go to Chicago. It has a shopping center named the Navy Pier. I have only seen it on a t.v. show but it looked like fun. It is across between a regular shopping center and a amusemenr park.and Chicago is the home of my favorite pizza, Uno's. I want to have a deep dish in the city that started it all.Abroad I would love to go to Tuscany.

I usually travel within the US. I just don't feel comfortable leaving home to go to another country right now. After all the fighting stops (hopefully sometime soon) then I will consider it.

I would love to go to Paris and bring my girlfriend there for a vacation but am afraid I don't have much budget for that overseas vacation for now...lol Maybe we just have to save for that and try to enjoy the beautiful islands we have here in the Philippines. Sometimes, I found the thought of going abroad for vacation somehow ironic for me since I haven't explored my own country yet and haven't seen all the beautiful places we have here where a lot of tourists keep coming back every year... lol Maybe after I finished a tour around my country, then I would really push my plan of going abroad for a vacation. At least by then, I would appreciate the things and places which aren't found here in our country.
