The Philippines has the highest concentration of butterflies in the world. It has 895 species of butterflies and about 352 of these species are endemio to the country. It also hosts about 25,000 species of insects., the largest of which is the giant MOTH with a wingspan of 1 FOOT.

I read that recently my self. I understand that 352 of them are very unique there. And I can only think a moth this large would be a little freakly to see for the first time as thats the size of a small bird. I'm looking forward to exploring the nature and wild life there very soon.

Ei, I didn't know that! Good thing you shared this information to us. This is really good news. It might mean the biodiversity in the Philippines is quite astounding even though it may be limited to the insects but nonetheless it is still diversity. There is really one butterfly dome in Bohol but I was not able to go inside it. I wonder if they have that one-foot moth that you mentioned. I would love to see how big it is up close.
