Pink Floydd's, "The Wall" is the strangest movie ever made. Bob Geldhoff was amazing as "Pink." I remember seeing the movie as a teenager and I didn't get it. Someone suggested that I should see it stoned and it would make more sense to me. They were wrong. I recently watched it again on DVD. Even with the commentary from Roger Waters, it still didn't make sense. I LOVED the film, don't get me wrong. But it broke the mold of wierdity. Another movie that I always found strange and disturbing was "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." I suppose you could say I am a victim of my 1970's upbringing. LOL

Oh you are so right. That's one creepy film. I wouldn't let my kids watch willy wonka until they were at least 10 and that depended upon their ability to handle creepy movies.

A clockwork orange is a classic, it's one of those movies that is constantly referenced in popular culture....though it has left me with a nervous tick everytime I see someone in a bowler hat. I think one of the most bizzare movies I have seen is City of Lost Children. It's french film (with subtitles) about an evil scientist who kidnaps kids and steals thier dreams because he is trying to stay young. Visually, this movie is very surreal. The film quality is kinda washed out, and almost sepia-like. Just about all of the characters are bizzare looking in some way....it has a very carnival like, and dream-like feel. Ron Perlman is a lead character, and hero. He is, of course, great in the movie (I think he's a great actor). I actually think this is a really good movie, and really enjoyed it. If you are feeling a little adventerous, give it a shot.

I second this. City of Children is really visually stunning. It is really an art piece. The story is quite good too. Another weird one like that is Delicatessen. It takes place in a time where meat is almost impossible to get, so this butcher starts chopping up the people in his tenent house. Meanwhile an ex-clown moves into the building and falls for the butcher's daugher. I believe it's considered a dark comedy. I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would.

i think one of the weirdest movies i have seen would have to be A Scanner Darkly. it is a good movie to be sure, but through most of it, i was going "huh?" a lot lol! it wasnt until the very end that i finally could say "oh i get it!" im gonna have to rent A Clockwork Orange though.

Dark City was weird, but the weirdest movie I ever saw was "Stranger than Paradise." It's about a couple of hungarian immigrants to the USA. It's bland and slow, pretty much like real life. There's one scene where the main character and his cousin are watching tv and eating popcorn. The camera is located behind the tv, so all you see is the actors. They watch the tv for about 5 minutes, passing the popcorn back and forth. It's a great movie, but very bizarre.

Eraserhead really freaked me out. Actually, all of David Lynch's movies are really weird and tend to give me nightmares.

Weird is one of my favorite genres, so it would be hard to pick just one movie. But Dark City is definitely up there, and so is Naked Lunch. A very weird Asian film that I liked is Save the Green Planet.
