Do you think that if Pirated VISTA is not available then people would move to Linux instead of paying for Windows

Hm, that's interesting. I think Linux would be more popular if Windows VISTA were not pirated but... it is pirated and so people will keep tied to Windows. :(

with linux your pc will rock, even if it's as old as a rock! 'damn small linux' is so small it fits on a floppy disk.

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API. Yes i think so it is a very real scenario

But think about what vista is providing to PC user .The piracy is not the issue for users .I think there are a lots of computer user who want to use product at any cost .If Linux is popular then it is its features also .But vista is really different .

Can you name some of such products. I know most of them are not from microsoft. Its possible for those developers to distribute the product on Linux if those same people are willing to use it at any cost (minus Windows license cost) on Linux.

vista will send most to linux once they get a taste of the drm preloaded in it! there are many people i know who wouldn't touch a free vista with a field prod. i for one will not pay for a high end pc and have it gummed up with vista's drm snits. microsoft is screwing the customer, pardon my french, and linux is working tward usability. go figure.

i have some friends are PC technics, few days ago we are talk about VISTA... they said me there are some problems with windows vista, driver for peripheral for example. In some forum is possible read about some important vulnerability bugs, other sites give 1000$ for each bug that you discover. Be careful people!!!!
