I recently read an article in the newspaper that read mobile phones will be blacked out in early Jan 2010 because of powerful solar flares that destroys all the network. Is this true?

well, you have started this discussion 4 years back? Even to this day, there are many articles and flash-news telling about a future date, when all the satellites and such electronics get damaged due to solar flares. It did not happen in 2010. I think, it will not happen any time in the near future too. thanks.
