is divorce the final step if ur wife cant give birth to a child

Here in India many class of people from low to high class society believes that a woman is a taboo to their family if she cant give birth to a child ? Many divorces take place on this flimsy ground and woman has to suffer. Laws has been introduced but NO ONE GOES BY THE BOOKS.You think is it fair for a woman to be dovorced if she for some or the medical grounds cant produce children must be divorced ??????

Marriages should not be child-based. You should get married because you want to marry the person, not because you want to have children with them. The marriage is more important then the possibility of children. Also, quite often it is not the fault of the woman's body that no children are conceived. Men can have fertility issues as well.

It is discriminating to hear of such. Though I respect the cultures and traditions of other countries in my opinion, this cannot be a basis of what a human being's worth. It is enough that the woman who cannot bear children suffers enough for herself because of this fact but to make her suffer even more because she will lose her love, would be just too much. If her spouse sincerely loves her then they could always choose other options such as adoption or whatever. And I understad that at first it would be difficult to accept but if how they feel for each other is real then they would stay together and work it out.

Its just sad that a marriage is destroyed just so the woman cannot bear a child. I do not know the marriage customs there in India. But if there is no love and understanding in a couple they should be divorced then but if they love each other and truly understand each other this should not be the basis for divorce. There are a lot of options like adoption and many other things. Although in our laws we have only annulment of marriage only when the woman concealed to her husband that she knows she could not bear a child before they were married, that is the only thing they could annul the marriage.

What happens if the man can't get her pregnant? Why does it always have to be blamed on the women? There are many cases where a man is sterile. Can she divorce him for such a reason?
I think it's ridiculous. If it's that important in a marriage to have a child then why don't they test before getting married. With so many children out there needing good homes, it's a shame a marriage needs to disolve because a natural child can't be born.
Well, I guess if there's no love then what's the point in staying together.
