I happen to use a microwave for both cooking & reheating leftovers for me & my other half quite often. There are recipes that we found as well like things like frozen lasagnas that we can cook in a microwave and they won't taste any different than if we were to use the stovetop or even the real oven. I've cooked eggs in the microwave as well and they do turn out just as good as scrambled eggs prepared in a skillet. I do know that the dishes that I have prepared in the microwave have tasted just as good as those made elsewhere.
I find sometimes cooking in the microwave to be one of those things that are rather useful or come in handy when you most need them. Especially on those days where you are in a hurry or don't want to spend a large deal of time in the kitchen preparing a meal. Especially when you have had one of those days where you just not only feel exhausted, but you just had a really horrible day.. So you want something quick to put together because your just not in the mood to want to cook something heavy or extravagant.
Another thing I've made in the microwave.. Would have to be a cake before and it really tasted awesome for the time and effort put into cooking it. I had always worried that making something in the microwave would make it taste weird and rubbery. In actuality it tastes moist, chewy and I'd like to say delicious but that's up to whoever I serve it to. I was surprised because I had actually eaten a cake someone else made in the microwave and that was probably the most terrible tasting cake ever. I was a little apprehensive to make mine and it was well worth the wait!
I haven't done much baking in the microwave as I leave that for my toaster oven. Regardless of that I might actually try to make moe in the microwave because as I do remember we did eat that cake quite fast as well.
I also make a mean plate of nachos that require a few extra ingredients but I'll tell you they're awesome in my opinion. All you need is a bag of restaurant style tortilla chips, hamburger that has been browned and drained, kidney beans, salsa and shredded cheese.
After you've browned the hamburger and drained it place it in a bowl. Add raw kidney beads and cook until the beans are soft. Then add the shredded cheese and you have a great topping for chips or a tasty mexican chili dip. Just make sure once you have all of that in a bowl you put it in the microwave and get it warmed up. It is best when it is served warm that way you get all the flavor out of it that way.
I honestly have not had a problem with the food I have made in a microwave. It has no real flavor difference from that of ground beef made on he stovetop and it tastes just as good. I find it's a little hard because you have to monitor how long it's in the microwave for while it browns but it does a very even cooking job. It's also good if you don't have time to watch the ground beef, make sure you're not too far off so you can look in on it three times or so.
There's always new recipes I'm looking for on the internet for things you can make in the microwave. I think the net is the best resource for finding these things. I found lots of different and what seem to be tasty meals to make in that appliance. I've already looked for some new ones for us to tryout and I think thy sound awesome. You just have to be careful with the choice of meat you pick.. As some meats you have to be very careful with when cooking them in the microwave.. Chicken for example I would much rather use the stove top or oven for quite honestly.
So, in conclusion I like to use my microwave to cook things as well as reheat things for meals and snacks. I use the microwave mostly though to reheat left overs as I find my toaster oven comes in more handy compared to using the microwave to cook some foods.. Though in some ways I do find the microwave almost as versatile as my toaster oven in that I can cook anything in it and it will cook the the food exactly the way I want it! . .
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

I tend to use the microwave and the stove for cooking my vegie's. It only takes 3 min's to cook a corn cob in the microwave, alot longer on the stove.
And I reheat foods in the zapper.
Everything else gets baked or cooked the correct way.

I never actually cook in the microwave. I use it to heat or re-heat food, beverages or bean bags (to put on my aches and pains). If I find myself running late and I want to have baked potatoes (which take an hour to cook in the oven), I will put them in the microwave for five minutes or so to give them a jump-start.
I don't think I will ever cook food in the microwave because I can't be sure whether they are cooked thoroughly.

I use my microwave for reheating, cooking and grilling. I don't cook vegetables in it but I do like to cook small joints of beef and chickens. It is much less expensive and takes less time than my big conventional oven. I have baked soda breads and fairy buns on a few occasions and everything turned out quite nice and tasty - just the same as if the were cooke in my conventional oven.

I don't use my microwave to often. I do reheat stuff but thats about it. I think people are just getting lazy anymore about cooking. I love homemade food.

OUr family only uses the microwave for re-heating purposes. For one, we have a dial, not a digital one, so it's harder to be specific with the setting. Also, we're quite a big family so it's more practical to cook over the stove where the pot isn't limited to the capapcity of the microwave. Although I've seen a lot of cookbooks using microwave, so I rather think that recipes have been customized to better suit cooking with it.

I had a microwave but i never used it. I prefer cooking it the classic way, i don't trust microwaves and just used it when i forgot the bread in the freezer!
