Lush: Do you stash or do you buy as you need and use fresh?

I've noticed there are quite a few Lush fans on here, and being a Lush addict myself i thought i'd ask you all whether you tend to stash a hoard of Lush products or if you tend to buy what you need as and when you need it so that you're using it fresh. At the moment i have a bit of a stash going, a fair amount of it being discontinued items that i've stocked up on. However, the whole idea of Lush products is that they're fresh cosmetics and there's no denying that while you can keep bath bombs, bubble bar slices and other products without use by dates on for some time and they still retain their smell, they do begin to fade and i've noticed that especially with bath bombs if you don't use them up within a few months of buying them they just don't fizz that much. So i've decided to have a bit of a use up of my Lush stuff so that i can start buying things more when i need them so that i get to use them fresh. What's your oppinion on this? Do you stash, or do you use stuff fresh as soon as you get it?

I have to admit...due to the price of Lush and what I typically am willing to spend my money on...I almost never use stuff fresh. I usually either wait at least a week or so after I bought it. Or if it's something I know won't ever be remade (at least not for a while), then I'll stash and hoard it like crazy and be afraid to us it! lol!

I am so impatient.. I used to plot my next bath on my way home from the shop. Of course a week and a half later.. I would start asking myself where did it all go? With the prices going up though I just can't use Lush like I used to.

I did Stash but found some of the Bubble Bar Slices went hard, so I am going to use up my stash and then buy Fresh as I need it

Ugh, that happened to me with Ruby Red Slippers. I thought I was so smart hoarding them so I'd have some for the lean times. That was a mistake. They got all hard and discolored, and they didn't smell the same. Sigh.

I stash. And then often forget, and get to be surpised when I find a bubble bar or bath melt I didn't remember I had! I do use the shampoos and skin care stuff fresh, though. But bath bombs, melts and bubble bars I kind of hoard and stash away for a rainy day or when I really need a pick me up.

I stash because I am usually looking for deals. For instance, during the Free for All I got a lot of stuff and I intend for that to last me a long time. I also stash my discons because I'm not always ready to use them right away. Another reason that I stash is so that I can plan my trips to thelocal LUSH around parties. I'd rather wait and spend my $50 two weeks later than planned and get a free bath bomd or something out of it. I do try to use my bath bombs a bit faster because they lose their fizz after a bit, and there are few things sadder than a bath bomb that just sinks to the bottom of your tub and just slowly falls apart. It kinda ruins the fun that way.

I have developed quite a stash! I have 134 toiletry items to use up and about two thirds of those are Lush. I haven't stashed most things deliberately. Some are gifts, some are from taking advantage of offers and and some I have bought and then bought something else that does the same thing so I have not used up what I bought first before trying the new item. The result is lots of half used products. I'm trying really hard to use things up before I buy anything else. I've been doing this since September but I got presents for Christmas, a free goody bag in January and birthday presents this month so I have had to add quite a lot to my list. I will not be put off though - I am determined to get down to a more manageable stash and only have fresh products by the end of this year. I've used up 25 items so far in February.

I stash but only a few items, rainbow worriers, blue tempal of truths, snowcake and fragrances. I try to use fresh for the rest as it is lots nicer and stronger smelling :)

I never meant to stash, but due to all the free things and presents I received in the last two months I do have one :( Some things are discons and I'm holding on to them even though I know I should use them (nothing's more disappointed than old bath bombs with no scent and no fizz). I'm trying my hardest to use everything up, but I still buy one or two new things every so often, so that doesn't help much.

I do have a bit of a stash at the moment as I have a few discontinued products and some great deals I got from swaps, FFA or freebies from my store's grand opening party. I am trying to cut down on my stash though, however, I really don't feel like I'm making a dent just yet.

I find that I do a bit of both. I'm new to Lush, so I have just started, but try not to use it *too* many times during the week. I usually use a shower gel a couple of times a week and take a couple of bubble baths as well. For a newbie, I'm pretty proud of my stash. Now if I could just get my hands on a ton of Two timing tarts, I'd be in heaven!

Like the other posters I stash too. But I have put myself on a break, where I am not allowed to buy anything else, and can only "go shopping" from my stash. So far that's been going pretty well. A lot of my stash was built up when a LUSH store opened near me...I must admit I went a little crazy, plus I would go to every event and spend enought money to get a goodie bag. It was like being in the LUSH mafia! Once I thought I was done, there was some sale or special to pull me back in. I'm happy to say I'm reformed now and I have been doing much better with my spending :-)

Stash away loads of discons and use them when i really want to treat myself but prefer to use the stuff that is still in the shops as soon as possible, though i do bulk buy on the discon rounds which means a lot ends up in my stash i prefer the stuff as fresh as possible so the other thing in my stash are rarer items

I do have a bit of a stash. But I've decided that I will only stash discons from now on! I do prefer fresh, but if they keep discontinuing products I love, I have no choice but to stash them! For the same of my wallet and storage space, I will no longer stash all the regular products I can get easily. Of course, this is easier said than done...

Hi Heziod!! I'm not a stasher, I find part of the thrill of Lush is choosing and buying stuff, so I like to buy little and often. Ballistics and soaps are so much nicer fresh, and I just buy skincare as I need it.

I use skincare items fresh, including the masks, AOBS, moisturizers etc. Everything else tends to build up in my stash, too many soaps, shampoo bars, massage bars, bombs, and bubble bars to use! Much of the stash is discons though, and xmas items I love and wanted to have enough of to last until they come back in the fall (Christingly will be amazing in the summer heat!) :) My oldest item right now is probably about 1 1/2 years, but with the pounds of gentle lentil I stocked up on it'll probably last me YEARS. I think I went overboard with the hoarding on that one ;)

I never meant to stash, but between Christmas and Free for All, it just kinda happened. I think I have at least 20 bombs and 20 soaps waiting to be used.

I only stash limited edition stuff like Christmas stuff. Even then I dont go mad, I bought 5 Wish upon a Star. I also got 3 bottles of Snow Fairy. Didnt go mad with Honey Hugs last weekend either, just the one for me. I am more a shower person than a bath person so dont have that bath bomb problem.

I tend to stash, at the moment i'm trying to resist the urge to buy more until i use what i have left, which is an awful lot!

I do stash but I'm really trying not to this year as Fresh Is Best! Obviously things like skin care don't get stashed as I'm using it all the time, but I have lots of bubble bars and soaps hanging around.

I have a huge stash - it's in a hatbox at the end of my bed that is about 70cm in diameter and 40 cm deep - it's packed with smaller boxes divided into soaps, BBs BBSs, shower gels etc. I stash too much really - my stash started to get a bit mental when I won a trip to the factory because I got given a few freebies, bought a bit and won a hatbox too. And then new things come out, and there are discon rounds, and special things for Christmas, so you end up hoarding. I try not to hoard current products though. I am hoarding a lot of snowcake soap though, as the other half has decided he loves it and gets through it very quickly. I'd like to think that when Lush opens in my town this year it'll mean I use stuff when it's fresher; but if I'm honest I think it just means I'll make more impulse purchases. More baths for me this year!
