Barcelona Diving. What to do about it?

What do we do about cheating in football? It is getting worse, two particularly bad dives from Puyol against Liverpool. Also Gilardinho the day before did a terrible dive. It is now coming into the Premier League. What can be done because it ruins the game for me.

Diving is a natural evolution of the game when every little advantage your team gets might become decisive. Unfortunately diving, or to fall easy, is things we see in every professional match these days. Its not fair to say that it was only Barca today though. Gerrard had some easy falls aswell today.

Yeah they just stood out for me. The referees need to get tougher on it, and I think there should be retrospective action for blatant diving. It just seems to be accepted as part of the game now and that's not right. Especially abroad (outside of UK) If you can get a penality out of it though players will always do it!

Yellow cards are rarely given out for diving, and even a yellow card is not a punishment enough when you know you can get a penalty kick out of it 50% of the times. Giving red cards for diving would be harsh, but maybe it is the way to go? It certainly would stop most of it. It can be hard to separate diving from actually losing your balance sometimes though.. Everyone agrees that something should be done, but what? It's a difficult subject.

Diving is technic in football

You mean 'technique'? No it's not. That's like saying kicking someone in the knee or handling the ball is technique in football.
