Have you ever noticed when eating at a Chinese restaurant Chinese people are served larger portions than everyone else?? Why is this?

I don't know that this is true. I actually, owned a chinese restaurant, and I can tell you we did not serve different portions for caucasion and asian guests. Like anything elde, restaurants are a business with routines and guidelines. Portions are already measured and prepared for a specific order. To try to enhance portion sizes for certain guests would only serve to slow the litchen down and would be bad for business.

My restaurant was an upscale restaurant. My chefs were all directly from mainland China. Authentic Chinese food.

i dont go to chinesse restaurants anymore but i can tell ya ...most asians are the same that way ...they stick together and support their own ...like i lived in korea for 5 years ... i just got back last september ... and this is what i noticed about their mentality that falls in line with this idea ... I was teaching an English class of 8/9 year olds and they were learning professions/occupations that day and the phrase they were suppose to learn was ... What do you want to be when you go up? and they were suppose to learn how to respond to that phrase ... when i asked the question to one child he said " I want to be a business man and when i grow up i will give all koreans a deal on my products but will raise the price to all foreigners." .. Now he had to have learned that at home ..dont ya think? I find these cultures stick together ..there are pros and cons to it ... i mean i wish white and blacks would stick together and help each other out ... but we usually fend for ourselves ... i know i took this way out there ...im sorry ...but thanks for letting me respond ...

No! I loved your response. I enjoyed it very much. Very informative. Thanks so much for sharing. I am looking forward to blacks and whites sticking together because it's kinda crazy out here nowadays with all the foreign envasion and persaution going on. It's terrible to see all the illegal aliens envading our country and are given benefits and everything else. And they don't give a damn about me. I am tired of it!

I've noticed the opposite. Chinese people seem to be given a more normal looking portion instead of a huge platter. They also seem to get their food prepared in a more traditional Chinese way than what Americans are used to. The Chinese food that is served in most American restaurants is nothing like authentic Chinese food.

I've also noticed that their food is prepared differently than ours.

I can't really say that the Chinese are given larger portions but I can say that I don't like ordering platters of food to share with others because you are given smaller portions than you'd get if you ordered a single serving just for one.
