This expression in often used in italian language to indicate that you can't prejudge a person only looking at their clothes. But is so really this expression? We can be honest admitting that today the look of the people is very important to give you an impression of their nature, status or provenance.I know that is not so right to know a person looking at their clothes, but I admitte also that the dresses that a people wear help me sometime to have an idea of the person that I've in front of me.And this is not the same to judge a person,I think it's a more quite way to know it better.Do you agree with me?

I sometimes prejudge others, I should know better though. Although normally I wear nice clothes when I go out, its not always possible if I need to fly into town after work. After work not only do I look and smell dirty but I have animal faeces all over my pants, so I know some people stare and think Im a pig, but I know better so thats all that counts.
Some friends of mine are extremely poor and buy from thrift shops and wear hand-me downs, they arent dressed to the nines but they still wear an honest smile.
Its hard to tell sometimes about a person's status, I have alot of rich farmers living around me, yet they all blend in or look like labourer's when out in public.
Although I do prejudge by looks, I never underestimate a person's financial status, we are all equal until proven otherwise.
