Tarot reading

Hi everyone... I am new here and have been a tarot reader for over 10 years. I was wondering if there is any place for this interest on My Lot? For example, what if we start a discussion thread here about Tarot? I could even do some sample readings for interested people. Let me know what you all think!

Welcome , ive only been here for 3 weeks and im having fun so i hope you will too. I think thats a great idea, i think alot of people are interested in Tarot but physicaly going somewhere is hard at times and i think holds poeple back. If you are able to do it over the computer how well do you think it will work, i thought that you had to be able to tap into the persons energy. I would love to have a reading done thanks.

I have never done a reading over the computer, so yes, I too am wondering whether or not it would work. I think the best thing might be to keep it simple and clear initially. If you can frame a clear question, I will tune into it and draw a card for you. Then I could explain what I get from that card, and if you felt comfortable, you could comment on whether it is accurate at all or way off! What do you think?

Ok Sandgroper, the card I drew for you is "The Chariot". This card is about being able to take what you have gained from the past, and move forward from that confidently. It is a sign that the change you asked about is necessary, but that you are actually the one to drive the change. Now, when I drew the card it came out upside down, or 'reversed'. This can indicate a couple of things. It COULD mean that the change you are talking about is more of an internal thing, rather than having something to do with the outside world like if you were moving house or changing job. It could just indicate a change in your own happiness, or your own attitude, rather than a massive external thing. Alternatively, it could mean that you ARE facing a fairly big external change, but for some reason you don't see that you have as much of an influence on this change as you really do. Perhaps you lack a bit of confidence. If this is the case, the Chariot card is telling you that you are ready, you should view the past as a learning experience that you really need to move on from and go for the next step. To sum up, remember that you are the 'Chariot driver' behind changes in your life. Even if everything seems totally up to fate and other people, try to work out what it is you can do to steer yourself in the direction you want to go, and have the confidence to go out and do it. The card is saying that even seemingly small actions from you will give you more of a sense of control :)

Hi Colega! So sorry.... I wasn't ignoring you, honestly! Am travelling at the moment and having the WORST time getting online! So, your question.... The card I drew for you is the Empress. It is a brilliant card for falling in love. I am very envious that you got this card! The Empress shows a gorgeous woman, dressed magnificently and sitting in a splendid garden. The message of this card in the context of your question is that you will attract love with somebodu who deserves you if you can start to see YOURSELF as a bit more of an Empress. That's a very weird thing to say in this day and age, I admit... It doesn't mean to go around thinking that you are a princess and better than everybody else (and I'm sure you wouldn't do that anyway!). What it means is that you need to start taking special care of yourself. I have a little assignment for you: 1) Take yourself out on a date, to a park or a special store or a cafe, just because you are worth it. 2) Every week, buy or make yourself a little gift, or get yourself some flowers, just for you! 3) Every day for a month, take real pleasure in dressing up and spend time on your hair and make-up, because you are worth it! 4) Select some special music that makes you feel amazing and listen to it as you go to sleep at night. This is the energy of the Empress. It is excellent for attracting the right person to you, someone who will support and empower you, rather than someone to take advantage of you :) Let me know how it goes!

Hi Marcia, The card I have drawn for you is the three of pentacles. It shows three people who look as though they have been working together to complete stone archway. This symbolises combining your skills with other people in order to complete a task, and is a very lucky card for anybody looking for a job. I would say that the card is telling you that yes, you will certainly find a job soon, and it is likely to be in a position where you are working together closely with others, rather than something solitary. Please let me know how it turns out!

Hi there Marcia, The reading I did for you definitely suggested that you could get work alongside others. So, congrats on your current cleaning job (believe me I know what it's like to need a job, and to feel happy when anything comes along) but I really don't feel that it is where you will end up. Can you keep looking for more jobs while you do the cleaning job? The reading just gave me the feeling that the right job for you will see you working together with others. Keep me posted! Flo.

Hi Angelsa, I drew the "Emperor" card for you. If there is a man in your life, (and I don't necessarily mean a lover) it is a symbol that he will stick by you and support you. You can trust him. Alternatively, if there isn't anyone, it is a message to you that you need to tap into your own inner confidence and be more assertive in order to get what you want out of your current life situations.

Hi Colega, Tarot reading is an ancient practice of drawing a card (or cards) from a deck of 78 picture cards, and then finding a connection between the picture and your own life. If you lay out all of the 78 cards, they pretty much represent most of the experiences we can go through as humans. If nothing else, getting a tarot card reading might give you new ideas about life, new ways of looking at old problems. Working with the cards is like talking about your problems with a friend, and getting a different point of view that can help you to move forward. Some people believe that there's some kind of subconscious energy or universal force that gives you the exact card that you need, but it's not necessary to believe that to get benefits from Tarot.

Hey there, Great question! Ok, I drew the six of swords for the Sep 11 person. This card indicates that the person is helpful to you in that they can get you out of your current life situation and into something a bit more exciting. For the Oct 29 person, I drew "The Hierophant" reversed which indicates that this person could seem a little bit more boring than the other one. However, this might only be on the surface. It's up to you to decide which you prefer. Stability (Oct 29) or excitement (Sep 11). Does any of this ring true? Flo. Ps, nope, I'm crap at palm reading!

Hi Weemam, I drew a pretty interesting card for you. It was the ten of swords, but it came out reversed. This means that something that has really been slowing you down and impairing you is going to fall away in the near future. Yay :)

Hi Lilyruth, Thanks so much for your encouragement. I am amazed at the response, actually :) As I am travelling at the moment, I am struggling to keep up, but once I am back at home I will be better. Can you recommend the best blog sites to set up a blog on? I'd be interested to know. It would have to be one where people could post their questions and comments. Cheers, Flo.

Ok Mipen, I drew the Ace of Pentacles reversed. It means that you will be able to sell the car this month, but that if you can wait a bit longer you will get more money for it. It depends how quickly you need cash. Cheers, Flo

Hello dearflo and welcome to mylot! I am always interested in tarot readers I wish it was something I could do, is it easy for you? I would love for you to do a reading for me but how does that work over the internet???

Hi ginagee! I was just saying to sandgroper that I've never done a reading over the internet. We could try and see if it's accurate or not. I suggested maybe thinking of a clear question, and then I will draw a card for you and post my impressions here. Then you could offer any feedback you might have about whether or not it's accurate or terrible!

And btw, ginagee, i think tarot is kind of easy to start, but the more you get into it the more involved and interesting it gets. If you want to read maybe you should get a deck and a book and have a go!!

Hi dearflo, I have heard about Tarot reading, I have never tried anything like this before because i couldnt find anyone specialised in this over here in my place. Hi Ganesh! Well, as I have been commenting to others, it's probably best at first if we do simplified readings over the internet. I suggested coming up with a question, and then I will draw a card and post my thoughts. Yes, tarot can definitely be used for reading past. An example of an effective question for a 'past' reading would be, "XYZ happened to me last year. What was the lesson for me in that event?"

Hi there, Two good cards came out for you: the King of Cups, and the two of wands. The King of Cups represents a man who is really a caring sort of person. This could represent you, or it could represent somebody in your work environment. The card is saying that you are not really a 'cold' sort of person who can just do 'hard' business. Make sure you are always in environments that have integrity. If your integrity is compromised too much in your workplace, you need to get out! The two of wands can represent things overseas, or at least interests that are outside of your immediate sphere. I think it very much refers to putting small amounts of money into investments that you cannot touch for a while, thereby building wealth.

i've been interested in tarot for a long time. it took me a while to find a tarot deck that i got a good vibe to. i usually only do a reading when i feel that i need one. i don't even remember the last time i did a reading, was a couple of months ago. how did you get into tarot? i was always drawn to mystic side of things, even though i grew up in a family that had no religion.

So which deck did you settle for? I got into tarot when I was 15 and saw a deck at my friend's house. It was a little mini Rider-Waite deck and I was fascinated. I kept wanting to know if a certain guy liked me.... Considering it's almost two decades later and I'm about to marry him, I'd say he probably did :)

Hey Sandy, I drew two cards from the Pentacles suit for you. This means that one of the two of you is very giving and very hard-working. I am not sure if it is you or him that this refers to. If you are the giving, hard-working one, then he does see that in you and admires that. If he is the giving, hard-working one then he cares for you and wants to be supportive of you. Either way, it is a good indication of a steady friendship that has not yet blossomed into love.

I am sure that by reading any of the tarot discussions on MyLot, you will start to learn some of the card meanings :) I would get a deck and just start practising. A good thing to do is to draw a card a day for yourself and just see how the images on the card relate to what happens in the day. If you keep a diary of this, you end up with a whole lot of personal references to the cards. You can compare them as you go with "official" meanings from books, but I think the most important thing with Tarot is to get a personal connection with your deck.

Hi Kool, Check out an author called Hali Morag. I find his book to be pretty clear. There is also a great book called "Tarot Reversals" which is excellent in dealing with reading the cards when they are both reversed and upright. The woman who wrote "Tarot Reversals" also has other books that I have heard are clear and useful, although I haven't personally used them. Let me know what your friend thinks!

Hi Mamatika, I drew the King of Cups reversed for you. It represents a man who is going through some emotional issues. Maybe he is in your life now, or is somebody you will meet soon, and not necessarily in a romantic context. It could be someone connected with your family. Does this make any sense?

Hi Soumyaraj, Do you think you could formulate one specific question for me please? Asking about your relationship, career and son would take a full reading to answer. As I am just doing the "single card" thing, it's not possible to cover all of those areas. So, have a think and get back to me... In the meantime, I drew a card for you. It was "The Lovers". Nice card! It actually has a lot to do with choice as well as with love. It indicates that you are currently or will soon be needing to make a decision that is quite important to your life. I get the feeling that at the moment you are juggling some priorities. Does this make any sense? If you can ask me a specific question, I can read more.

Merry met dearflo and welcome to mylot. If you look under interest you'll find that we have categories for wicca/paganism/witchcraft.. all sorts of stuff that is probably right up your alley. There are actually more of us here that I'd originally thought. I'm sure that there is probably plenty of people interested in getting a reading done - and judging from the responses here I'm right.. lol.. Although be warned.. you may get some negativity from some of the people here who don't believe in them. Some people aren't open at all to the idea. And there are others who believe that everything we do is Satanistic. You just gotta learn to ignore those people. What deck do you use for your readings? I've got a few different decks but for my own readings I go to another friend (you were right in one of your replies when you said that some practioners have issues doing readings for themselves) and I like to use the Native American Wisdom Tarot for my own readings. When doing readings for others I normally use the rider tarot cards.

Merry met :) I have an amazing deck I use for myself called the "Marco Polo" deck which has a fusion of East/West illustrations. I love "The Hanged Man" in particular, because it depictes a pearl diver on the bottom of the ocean with a rope attached to his ankle, leading up to his boat on the top of the water. The meaning of the card is really brought out in this and other cards. Actually, I really like what they've done with the whole Major Arcana. For others, I use the Rider Deck like you :)
