So I have to ask...with their being so many different denominations of Christianity out there (and there are tons) I have some questions What denomination are you? why that particular one and would you ever switch to a different one? How do you feel about the other denoms. do you think that some of them "have it wrong"? How is your particular denomination different to the others? What does Christianity mean to you? How has it affected your life overall? (this coud be positve or negative) NO ARGUING PLEASE!!

Christanity doesn't effect my life at all. I am not religious, but once my best friends dad tried to convert me to a born again christian, and he is an ex biker! Did you know there are Christian biker gangs. I thought i would share that little bit of humourous informatin with you. I think that's just the funniest thing.

TeresaK I dont think Sissygrl was being insulting by any means...I understand what she is saying because hangin out with the Outlaws, Satans Choice turn Hells Angels etc was a big part of my life back in the day...I think what she is suggesting is that its funny because of the distorted view ppl have of bikers....I mean lets face it bikers dont exactly have the greatest reputation or stereotype so to think of "Christian" Bikers is kinda funny..Its not meant to be offensive I dont think...and I'll admit I do find serious humour in that just cause of all the boys I knew, trying to visualize them in church and spreading the word is a riot considering alot of them were some hardcore guys back in the day...

Your right sorry it took so long to respond. I was just saying that i find it funny that there are biker gangs that are religious, i mean when i think of a biker gang the first thing that pops into my head is NOT religion, its more like rebellion and outlaws! I guess that is a stereo type too, but i wasn't trying to insult anyone. Sorry if i did. i guess by the fact that i stated that i wasn't religous, you assumed i was AGAINST religion ( i know a lot of people are). I have a very rare outlook on life i think anyways, live and let live. You all can believe in whatever you want to, and i don't have a problem with it. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone! And as long as your not trying to shove it down my throat! Then thumbs up! Give-er!

To me, Christianity -- or any other religion for that matter -- does that I realise that Mankind still have a long way to go to fully mature. People lead their lives according to old superstitions based on the imagination of some writers who came up with fairy tales a long time ago. Sad, really. Well, if people are comfortable with it, fine. As long as they don't spread those rather dubious memes and mentally abuse their children by presenting mythology as facts.

What a lot of questions! IF I can consider myself to be a Christian, then I would be a Quaker. I have, however, been told - by a Quaker - that I am not, even though I sometimes attend Meeting for Worship, because I am not a Member of the Society of Friends. I did find that statement somewhat un-Friendly and it was, perhaps, that that dissuaded me from worshipping with them so frequently. Having been baptised (in adulthood) into the Church of England, I suppose I could consider myself an Anglican but I find myself uneasy about many aspects of worship in that Church (and there are, of course, different 'flavours' of Anglicanism, as well). In short, I suppose, I have rejected religion in favour of spirituality. There is a God, of that I am in no doubt. Jesus is never recorded as referring to himself as the Son of God - he preferred to call himself the Son of Man (though he taught us to pray to 'our Father' - and whenever he is called the Son of God or the Christ, it is by his followers. I believe that he had no doubt of his mission and of his relationship with God but, until I see good evidence to the contrary, I will continue to think of him as my older (and very special) brother in God. Yes, I think that (to put it simplistically) many denominations are teaching a poor version of the truth. I, personally, would rather concentrate on what they (and other religions besides Christianity) have 'right'. We are all human and, as St Paul says, 'NOW I see, as through a glass, darkly'. Our very humanity means that we have difficulty understanding the universality of God and His unbounded love for all of His creation, human or otherwise, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Taoist, Buddhist, Pagan, Atheist or whatever. In fact, many of us have difficulty understanding what love is and how someone who seems to us evil and unlovable can yet be loved and someone who is innocent and defenceless can be allowed to suffer harm. For many years, or so it seems, Christianity affected me negatively. I found myself rejecting and questioning things rather than accepting them. Finding God (or rather, allowing Him to find me, which may or may not have been as a result of me being raised in a Christian tradition) turned my life around. I have no idea whether it has made me a better person. It has made me more aware of being a sinner and certainly more knowledgeable about what sin really is. He has shown me that whatever I have done that I thought fell short of His standards and was therefore 'sinful' has, nevertheless, by His grace, added something to what I am and what He wants me to be in Him. MUCH more importantly, His love for me has taught me how I should love those He loves. I am not a good person, nor is it my brief to tell others about God - He is far more capable than I of finding and saving people. My duty is to love Him as best I may and to answer questions such as yours in the way that I believe He shows me.

I agree. I am a catholic. as all denominations are not so different from one another, they differ only in tradition. As a christian love God above all else and the rest will be easy. In normal people doing something bad creates guilt, but as you repeat doing these things, you grow immune to your guilt thats just the way life is. But we will only realize what we really are in the end that we're just humans and we all believe in something.

I was born and christened as Catholic, to which I thought was the same as Christianity. I found out Christianity has a very big difference of being a Catholic. Christians has many branches/divisions, and Catholic is in one of those divisions of Christianity. I think I belong to those Protestants, I'm not symbolic, I don't worship images, gods/godsses, saints, and virgin mary. I also do not believe on false doctrines, malpractices, misleading and how the church dictates people how to pray. I only pray to God to give thanks, worship, repentance and ask for guidance in my everyday life. Anything more that I say, as the bible states and to what Jesus told us to do so, because I know that He already knows what I want and what I need. And I know that a lot of here will judge and argue, but I can say that maybe they should refer first and read the bible. If they haven't broke any of the ten commandments yet, then I will believe and follow their religion then..

Well, I go to a nondenominational Christian church. We do not believe in a denomination, just the bible. We realize that the old testament was written before Jesus Christ came and saved us from all of that. The old testament is basically a history, to save us from doing things the same. The new testament provides us with guidlines to live by. I think people make too much fuss over denominations. We all believe in the same God, so we should come together and support each other, rather than argue over it. My faith has gotten me through many rough patches in my life and I am very happy that I know God and his grace.

There are lot of people, preachers claiming that they are Chirstians but do not follow what Christianity really mean. Well, on my part, I do believe with Gods help and mercy, I am a Christian, follwing the doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ, from the way I dressed, the way I speak, and the way I live.

I was brought up in the Pentecostal religion.Let me explain to you about Pentecost, now days there are so many different kinds of Pentecostals these days..They have a United pentecost,a Free pentecost,a Charismatic Pentecost, the apostalic Pentecost, and the assembly Of God pentecost...Some forms of these Pentecostal have different rules to follow, but basically they all have the same doctrine, just different rules, its kinda confusing really..They all believe the acts 2:38 experience, with the infilling of the holy spirit, baptism, and all believe in the 10 commandments, prayer,Bible reading, healing, but some forms believe a stronger form of rules...but a lot of the rules are made made and they apply them to their own congregation....So thats what I am ,and I do believe it,and it is a very comforting to me ..as far as other religions,I have seen some very good God fearing people in other religions..Most people are raised to believe in the religion that they were brought up in,and thats normal .Yes i would say that being brought up in my religion is a positive for me..It has kelp me from doing a lot of things that I might have done had I not been brought up in a religion at all.I think it gives a person a few guide lines as to right and wrong and mostly gives them a standard of life to go by...I do feel sorry for people who was brought up under no religious back ground because they are searching for something to full fill their life, and it is very hard for them..I feel that if a person has a good heart, and they want God in their life if they will pray and ask God to help them, that God will lead them and guide them into a peace and safe relationship with him..God always helps those with an honest heart..

christainity is good .it means having the life of christ in a person.when u accept jesus as your lord and saviour he comes straight to take over your life both spiritually and physically.if u just attend church without christ dwelling in your life you are in trouble.some few years ago i was sleeping in my bed at night but couldnt open my eyes when it was morning.life is really full of mystries. i know that it was d time i suppose to wake up but could not open my eyes i was on the bed like that until i said to myself that i cant die like that so i have to quote some words from the bible and i open my eyes. then i was just going to church and dont have christ. the lord really help me by his grace and later i become a born again christain. my life is not by mistake on this planet earth but the lord directing me and helping me everyday.heaven is real and hell is real whether people believe it or not .i want to go to heaven by God grace

Okay answering your questions straight out: 1. I am from an non-demoinational church (calvary chapel) 2. I wouldnt switch but think Pentecostals are pretty nice people. I know because the college I graduated from was pentecostal 3. I think other demonations are different parts of the body of Christ. NOTHING wrong with them (quesion #4) 4. Mine is different because it has NO set beliefs like others do. But its close to pentecostal I have heard and another (cant recall which) 5. Christianity is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son. I asked Jesus in my heart when I was 6 yrs old and havent looked back. I had my ups and downs but never anything too far from going to church and such. 6. My life is affected because I know I am going to Christian, I know God is taking care of me and watching over me and is in control. I know I am loved. Its hard to explain but having parents who dont always make me feel loved I know God loves me in ALL ways. 7. All affects are positive 110% and I would never ever turn my back on God. He has NEVER done that to me why would I do that to Him? Hope this helps. :))

i'm a roman catholic. and i don't think i would ever want to change religion. my belief has helped me go on with my life, for without it, i would never have hope and will to survive. we, roman catholics, believe that God is always there for us and he'll help us everytime we call to him. so whenever i feel so down, i just pray. because just thinking that there's someone up there with supreme power to take care of everything gives me hope. my will to survive and go on depends on my hopes of the future. my religion really means a lot to me, and has a great effect in my entire life.

Friend, Christianity for me is being like Christ. It need not be living like Him. Following His ideals is the most important virtue that we need to develop as a Christian. Any denomination does not matter. I belong to the Roman Catholic denomination. I cannot really comment on the others, cos they are doing what they feel right, and I am doing what I feel is right. Judgement should be done by Him alone. The only aspect of Christianity that I do not like is conversions. And thats because, conversion should happen in the heart and not in physical sense. Christianity has really brought in me a sense of satisfaction in life and a feeling of universal brotherhood. You know, the very word Jesus makes me smile. keep smiling my frend Mike, the smiley Devil

Im a Protestant.. ^o^v. Why do i choose it? Well, i have attended several churches and i realise that the one that suited me the best is Protestant. Yeah, i am so grateful that i chose it. Bout other denoms, i feel... fine. That doesnt matter as long as we are all connected in Jesus Christ! Unfortunately, some are starting to get a lil out of the right path... Somebody must get them back to the right path again. Christianity means A LOT to me... being a Christian is a very hard thing to do. It needs a lot of sacrifice. It has affected my life A LOT! 8 months ago, Chrsitianity has saved my life. I used to be sum1 who was.... SoOoOoOo terrible until my fren asked me to join his Christian community. Thank God that at the time i didnt refuse his offer. Hehehe....

Christian means to be Christ-like. When one is born again, they renew their selves in the word of God (Bible)daily. We learn how the early church behaved and how God would have us to behave now. Being a Christian helps me to experience the world through the eyes of God. It has made me wiser, more loving, and compassionate. Forgiveness is addicting for me now. As much as I hate to be at odds with anyone, I searched long and hard to grasp the true meaning of forgiveness. Sometimes it is still not easy, but once I am able to, it feels wonderful. People think of God as a person who puts a lot of limits on his children, on the contrary, I feel more freedom now than I have ever felt. The Bible says that he whom the son has set free is free indeed. This is so very true. There is no one in this world more important to me than God, he is my everything. I am lonely at times but never alone, he has a way of showing me that his presence is near. I grew up Pentecostal, but there are many religions that don't stray from these same beliefs, so I don't really need a label. I believe that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sins and that he rose again on the third day and has ascended on high and will return one day for those who belong to him. I am saved because I accepted what Jesus did on the cross for me as sufficient. By his mercy, I have been forgiven and am victorious in every area of my life. When I was a child I sang along to a lot of old songs that never really made sense to me until I gave my life to Jesus. Now I can relate to them and I'm saying, oh that's what they meant when they sang, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "Oh Happy Day," and "Yes Jesus Loves Me."

Christianity means following Christ. Religion or any denomination can't save our soul. It is about our personal relationship with the Lord and living according to His word. What is important is that the denomination we belong is a full gospel teachings -where our faith in Christ grow and because we love the Lord we have the obligation to spread his word to the lost soul. As Christians whatever our denomination is, we all have one goal - to love each other and follow his commandments... In Christianity, there is no comparison coz each one of us or every Christian denomination is special in the eyes of the Lord!!!!! Those who claim that they are a Christian denomination but teaches beyond what the scripture teaches and they argue/debate the bible teachings must think and evaluate their belief...... I'm saying the latter in God's love.....

hi raven, hi everyone! christianity for me- has made my life easier- im not a born again christian yet as i am catholic, but i do attend at their church and somehow, since i started attending- things made more sense to me, even if im currntly undergoing some crisis at least, having faith in jesus helped me feel that im not alone and that i wasnt abandoned in any way and that this is all for a purpose- i know im not so much of a Jesus fanatic but im working on it- life is much simpler when you have faith- when you have it you know that everything will be ok- because it has been said and promised and written in his book. sometimes i still get skeptical about these kinds of stuff like on faith & christianity, but then i realize that im just making my life complicated and harder than it really is...so bottomline for me- christianity makes living less complicated :)

I currently belong to the Roman Catholic denomination (if that's what you are referring to)I was baptized into this denomination as a child. This makes me open minded and i would not hesitate to switch to a different denomination if directed by good reason and sound judgment.I feel that all other denominations should be given a fair chance - they all have thier own good traits or points as well as their weak ones. I would not say that "some of them GOT IT WRONG" but rather that some of them, including the Roman Catholic Denomination, have gotten some points wrong, or give the value or focus on the wrong principles. The Roman Catholic Denomination is different from others in their emphasis on the Roman Pontiff and devotion to the saints. Christianity for me means a way of life one freely choses to bring him closer to the supernatural realm and give him peace of mind. It has affected my life negatively in that instead of acheiving that goal, the narrowness of their ideology and lack of dialogue has challenged me to venture outside their realm and put them on par with other denominations where any particulalr religion seems to be VALID but not ABSOLUTELY necessary. Thus it make me view religion not with animosity and a bickering attidude but with an understanding attituce believing that it is not religion that makes a person but the way a person accepts and practices his religion.
