Okay so I'll admit it, I'm totally in the dark (pretty much anyway) when it comes to the Islam beliefs and I'm very curious about it all....SO I know that there are many ppl here that are Islamic (is that the right term?) so can some of you explain it to me...for example
what are the basic beliefs?
How does it differ from Christianity?
Where did the holy/sacred text come from?
Where you raised with this belief or is it something you converted to later on in life?
Do you harbor annimosity or feel that all other religions are wrong?
What are your personal feelings about Islam?
How do you feel, react to ppl who are negative with you about your religion? (sadly this is so common which IMO is a true shame!)
NO ARGUING PLEASE

Our Basic belief Is that this life is temporary and everyone has to die. And also that we are here as a farmer. As we sow We will reep in the world hereafter. We will have to answer for our actions infront of God.
It does not Differ from TRUE christianity, As brought by Hazrat EESA(JESUS). Bur the christians have made many changes in their Holy books.
The holy text to THe Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W) came from God via an angel called HAZRAT JIBRAEL. He then preached to muslim (His Followers). I am a borne Muslim. I think that all religions are good as far as they are not ruled or made by man himself. And If someone does not believe in Islam I like to convince him/her.

thats interesting..and thank you for responding...now for a somewhat, possibly touchy question (though no offence intended by any means)...Could you give me one or two examples of how you feel Christians have changed the holy books? Are they BIG changes??? How do Muslims (I ask Christians this too) know that the sacred text they use is the right text? Do you think there is far too much anger between Muslims and Christians in general society (not speaking on a massive global level, I'm talking about within the communities, cities, schools, places of employment etc)??
LOL thanks for you patience with me btw - once i get curiosus about something I dont stop until I feel I have all the answers I need LOL

I am a catholic, but I will try to answer your questions with kind permission.
Basic belief is that God created the world and everything in it and is in charge of our lives.
Christianity, beleives that Jesus is the Son of God. It also is not against worshipping saints or praying to them. In Islam Jesus is a prophet and Mohammed came as the last prophet with the final message. They pray direct to God.
The Bible was put together by Constantine, but the Koran is said to have been a creation of God himself and handed over to Prophet Mohamed.
I believe only in myself and try to follow the Buddhist philosophy. But I practice my Catholic religion and its rituals.
I think all religions are wrong. But everyone won't understand when you say, "don't hit him, its bad". But most people undertand when you say, "if you hit him God will send you to hell and burn you forever". So I think religion is an asset.
Islam converted a bunch of bandits and bedouins into God fearing civilised people. So its power is great. Buddhism was preached to an advanced civilisation. It is difficult to understand.
I don't react to those who are negative about my religion because I am also negative about my religion.
