I guess I'm still confused about this show, even with new episodes being on now... Why do they keep saying "us" and "them" -- like they say stuff like "you're one of them, not one of us"... what are they talking about and why exactly cant they just all live on the darn island together? ha... What is so special about "them"?

Well for one the Others have formed a community. And like any community are often weary of outsiders. But you also have to keep in mind that the Others are performing scientific experiments of some sort. So it's very possible that they don't want the Jack/Kate/sawyer group getting in the way or knowing what they are really doing. but the big thing I think is the trust issue. No one trusts anyone. So how can you get along if you don't trust one another.

I think of the "us" group as the main cast of the show (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Charlie, Hurely.....). They are on the main island they crashed on. I think the "them" or "the others" are Ben's group (Ben, Juliette, Tom...the one's who stole Walt last season) we now know....and this is a spolier if you aren't totally up to date on all the episodes.....The Others are on a different island for the US group, as Kate and Sawyer had to row back to the other island last night...and apparently The Other don't live there, they work there. I don't think we know what's so special, or weird or even what's going on with The Others. But we do know the two groups don't get along. I love this show, but yeah, it can be darn confusing, with so many unanswered questions!
