Now she is a paranoid wreck hopelessly hooked on crack.
Drugs have devastated her once-famous beauty.

I Will Always Love You, from the soundtrack of her hit 1992 movie The Bodyguard, sold an astonishing 37million copies.
She won 21 American Music Awards and six Grammys.
She is haggard, with dark circles under her eyes and a deranged look on her face.
She regularly disappears for days and weeks at a time — holed up in seedy crack dens in dangerous parts of town
This is a quote from a email slideshow forwarded by a dear friend of mine and I was very saddened with what happened to whitney. I really love her songs and her movie the bodyguard. She has a gift of voice everybody loves.
LET US PRAY FOR WHITNEY!!!! When she was out there singing for us, she was getting praises. Now that she has some problems, everybody wants to talk about her. We all, at some point in our lives loved this woman of her music and still do. Please lets pray for her and not judge or mock her. We all have been there, just another different circumstances, falling off the wagon is easy, it's how you gor up that matter most.
The people, the fans, the prayers will help her. We may not be able to help her physically, but we can spiritually.
Please whisper a little prayer to our almighty god to guide her and help her and protect her against the evil called cocaine.

I agree, Whitney has a wonderful talent and I've loved her music for year. It is such a shame to know what has happened to her and will lift up prayer that she will be delivered from this horrible habit.

That's really true byfaithonly! A powerful prayer that's true and sincere can make a big difference on whitney 's current situation. We can really help by whispering little prayer for her recovery.

I'm not a U.S. citizen or even came from a develop country I'm a filipina who really had a concern and sincere intention of helping other person who really need it and for that myLot is a great place to solicit prayers for in here I really know there are many good souls who do not judge other but pray for them.

I really feel for whitney, I think it was such a waste of a wonderful talent. I feared the worst when she teamed up with Bobby Brown and unfortunately I was right. She came from a good wholesome family of choir singers and as you know, she has a famous aunt, as well.

My heart goes out to Whitney. She has fallen victim to a powerful addiciton like so many others. Addiction knows no boundaries of fame, fortune, position in life or anything. She is a very talented person. Lets all pray and hope that she will one day entertain us again.

good to read your thought.. she actully need some prayer. I hope she will get well soon and start her life(a normal life) again.
i seen her at t.v and i could not believe my eyes.. what happen to her? why she doing this to herself?

its a sad situation, she had such talent and ruined it all, because of her vulnerabilities and addiction to harmful substances. honeslty, i hate to be so blunt with you, but I doubt prayer will work, in any case. One should rely solely on themselves to change, and they must put in the effort and strength to change themselves. it's called self-reliance, and yes its tough to do, people find it much more easier to turn to God, but really if you don't try at all, a prayer will do nothing.

A very talented person. I remember when i was in college, her movie, Bodyguard, with Kevin Costner was shown in our country. Local channels showed tv specials about her. Almost everyone liked "I Will Always Love You" which is the movie's theme. And i must say, i love all her songs. Last year, I received an e-mail from a friend, containing Whitney's pictures, those haggard-looking pictures. Whitney is a big loss in the music industry. Let's just hope and pray, she can still recover from all these.

There is nothing sadder than a wasted life. I have little pity for someone who pisses away talent like her. She shows her true self with how she's handled fame. The coke didn't sneak into her house at night and inflict it's self on her. Like some sort of chemical rapist.
If she comes threw and straightens herself out that's great. If not she's just another talented waste of oxygen.

This is one of the most heartfelt and beautiful posts I have read on MyLot in some time. I am a fan of Whitney's voice and I absolutley adore the song, "I will always love you". Still, we all forget the meaning of compassion as we revel in other's dirty laundry from time to time. I will say a prayer for her and include Britney Spears in the same prayer as both seemt o be wayward souls in need of intervention - either divine or terrestrial.
I look forward to reaading more from you and thanks for putting this up here.

Whitney is one of my favorite singer. Actually, i;m wishing that she would have a new album. Anyway, you can count on me, I'll pray for her. I will also pray for those people judging and mocking her that they would stop those unkind doings.

Thank you for the post about Whitney. I have been a fan of Whitney Houston from the very beginnings of her career. Watching her go through her struggles the past few years has been very hard as a loyal fan and christian. Her music is so beautiful and has been such an inspiration. She has also starred in some of my favorite movies, from Bodyguard,Waiting to Exhale and my #1 favorite of hers "The Preacher's Wife" I remember watching the Preacher's wife and hoping that at some point the healing music she was singing in the film would eventually inspire her in her personal life to come clean and reach out for help. Her voice talent is a wonderful gift ...I will keep praying for her healing in her personal life.
