Hello all, I'm new here and wonder how many people suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks? I am currently taking 1 milligram of xanax 3 times a day for it, but they don't seem to help like they used to. The feeling is so intense no matter how many times I have them they still scare me to death. I've tried slow deep breaths, focusing on something else, reading, meditation and relaxation and nothing seems to work very well so far. Is there anything else that has been effective for others? Thanks to anyone who can help.

I've had panic attacks since I was 15 years old I'm now 23. I take fluxotine daily and then the clonazepam at night and to use when I need it. My panic attacks lately have been really bad but there is a lot of stress in my life right now, so hopefully they will get better soon. If you need to talk just let me know.

Rescue Remedy - Rescue Remedy a natural source to help you cope with stress and anxiety
You poor thing I know exactly what you are going through. I used to suffer from panic attacks really badly and still sometimes get them. I remember reading an article that panic attacks will not kill you, so this firstly took alot of fear away when I did experience them. I went to breathing classes to learn how to breathe properly and invested in lots of different essential oils that are known to calm you down. Neroli is brilliant. I think it gave me something to focus on to keep me calm when I felt one was coming on. Also Rescue Remedy is brilliant, whenever I feel the start of a panic coming on I spray some onto my tongue and the feeling goes away. However, still sometimes they will come on for no reason, which I find the worse. What I do now is try not to fight it, I find that makes it worse. Have you heard of Bach's Flowers, these are natural rememdies for lots of different emotions we can experience. Here is the website, have a look it may be an alternative for you instead of relying on medication as this just suppresses the anxiety and does not get to the root of it. Also, if you are finding your medication is no longer working, I am sure you don't want to keep increasing the dosage. I hope this has been helpful and my thoughts are with you as I know how distressing this can be and can take over your life. Bach's Flowers http://www.bachflower.com/emotions.htm

I have had panic attacks and anxiety for about 15 years. It started when i was in my teens, i've been on all kind of meds, but i thought it just made me worse. I don't take meds anymore. I just try to deal with it the best i can. I try to find ways of dealing with stress and calming myself. But everyday is a struggle.
