If you are being holdupped? are you brave enough to talk to the holdupper?

My sister was recently caught in a holdup when she was riding on a jeep (a Filipino public vehicle). It was on a dark street and most passengers had their valuables stolen. My sister had her bag stolen along with her cellphone, ATM card, and company ID. She chased the 2 holduppers on the street and when she got near them, she requested that they return her things because those are important to her. one holdupper threatened her with a knife but she insisted that they give back her bag. The holdupper gave in and returned her bag. The jeepney driver waited for her to get back so she got another ride home. Luckily, she got home safe and unharmed. I admire her for doing that, but could everyone really be as brave as that? We don't know the danger that these people might cause to our lives. What are you going to do in this situation?
