Have you ever been visited by a loved one that has died?

I truely believe that my Grandmother paid my family a visit. After she passed away we moved into her old house. It is the family homestead. The house needed alot of work. My husband had put in new windows and put siding on the house. One night we came home and there was a white dove on the roof. It seemed very excited to see us. My kids were in the living room playing and the dove moved over to where it could look in the door at the kids. I called my Mother to come see it. The next day it was gone. My Mom said I believe it was Grandma telling us that she saw what we had done to the house and was happy. We were very close, and I like to agree. It just seemed very strange. Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else?
