"Asians Pursuing Studies in Austrailia have poor English"

Over one- third of overseas students, including Indians, completing their unversity degrees in Austrailia have such poor Englidh that they should never have been admitted. The results of a study showed that 34% of the student who offered permanent residence visas last year were unable to achieve a "competent" English standard in their test.The study found that about 9 % students both from India and Singapore failed to reach the required level. It said that more than 24% Pakistani students fall in this category, while 42% Bangladeshi and 47% Nepales have little knowledge of English , Over 50% South Korean and Thai students could not meet required English level whereas among chinese students the figure was as high as 43.2% Why people in asia have less knowledge of english Do comment on this

Not to be rude, but have you ever tried to learn Chinese? If you had a far better opportunities wouldn't you also consider going to another country, even if the people there spoke a different language? It's hard to imagine while living in a great country such as Australia. I come from the USA myself and immigrated here 5 years ago. The lifestyle and benefits of living in Australia are fantastic even for me. Imagine the allure of Australia for someone in a fairly poor country. Also keep in mind that these are students. They are learning. On the other hand I cannot defend an unwillingness to learn English. Most students that stay in Australia do learn English. Oh, and next time you visit a medical clinic with multiple doctors check out the names on their card. Sorry to generalize, but foreigners are doing SOMETHING right.

What will happen if these students graudate from austrailia then the Serious Question will be raised on the Austrailia unversity standards. That means will selecting the students the austrailian are not examing properly.That means the slection procedure are sorry to say bad? Because if a person says that he is from Cambridge or Oxford unversity people try to recognise them as Standard and the culture they have inherieted from that unversity may be the person not so genius but people look at him as the proof. Same lies here also that if a person doesnt know english coming from well know austrailian unversity. will led to sub standard in their Teaching.
