How to trust???

This was an incident my freind had faced which made me wonder if we can trust any body.She was in college and staying with friends in an apartment.Suddenly she started finding that large amounts were being deducted from her account throuch her debit card.On investigation she found that her best frnd , her room mate has been sectretly using her card.Now u guys tell me how can she react after they have been good friends for some time ...,makes me wonder whom to trust..

That is SO disgusting --that is lower than low! Did this person also know her PIN number? They would no longer be any kind of friend to me. Your question "how to trust"... just exercise some standare precautions. Don't leave your purse laying around, don't store your PIN number anywhere other than your noggin!

The first thing your friend should have done (and hopefully she has done by now) is cancel her card and change her pin number. The banks tell you to keep your pin number a secret for a very good reason. No one knows my pin number not even my husband and I don't know his pin number either. I wouldn't even want to know, if I want money I'll just ask him and vice versa.
About not trusting people, you can't judge everyone by your friend's room-mate's standards. Not everyone is a cheat, do tell your friend though to ask her room-mate about it. She might be in some real financial difficulty or facing some problems which she is too scared to talk about or she's just an out and out thief. Either way, your friend can't ignore this, it's not acceptable behaviour under any circumstances. She's lucky your pal hasn't reported her to the police. I hope the situation is resolved soon :)
