I used to spend hundreds of dollars on gifts because I did not want anyone to think I was cheap.

It varies for me too. I don't set a limit. I just buy things within reason

We spend $60/per sibling (8 total), $150/per set of parents (3 sets of parents/grandparents), $30/nieces and nephews (7 total), and about$150 for our daughter. Woah, that's alot now that I look at it. It helps that I spread it out throughout the year.

I don't set a limit for Christmas purchases, I just purchase things that are reasonably priced - items that are on sale throughout the year and pick them up as I go along - that way I'm not putting out a huge amount all at one time.

Depends on what the kids want. But also on how much money I have to spend. I was wanting to send my parents on a cruise this year for Christmas but I was short on the money but it would have cost about $500.
