Search for new coffee taste. I want to spice my coffee. What can I add to it?

I drink 2-3 cups of coffee every morning. Sometimes I add ice cream to my coffee, spices and cream. I am running out of new ideas for my morning treat. If you can make special coffee for me, how would you serve it?

I've been adding pumpkin pie spice and vanilla in the pot, and using Splenda. It tastes great. This is especially good on a cold morning when you don't have anywhere to go! It smells good too.

I get it at any grocery. McCormick is the best, but I've had Kroger brand, and it's okay, too. I think whipped cream would be an awesome additive, with this concoction. I bought this spice to use in place of measuring out the different spices for pumpkin pie!

Here is the recipe for Irish coffee. 1/4 cup of hot strong black coffee 1-2 tsp sugar 1 large measure of whiskey 1-2 tbsp double cream Fill a stemmed whiskey glass with hot water to warm it. Throw this out and fill the glass more than half full with coffee and add sugar to taste. Stir to dissolve, then add the whiskey. Pour the cream over the back of a spoon to float on top. Drink the hot liquid through the cool cream. If double cream is not available use lightly-whipped single (whipping) cream.

1.you can add some cardomom which has been finely grinded. 2.cinnamon and nutmeg will also be a good choice. 3.you can even add ginger and cloves to give varied taste.

I have been adding cardamon and ginger for years. Maybe I should add grinded cardamon. Nutmag is not my favorite, I add gloves during cold winter. Thank you.

I drink my coffee black typically and don't like the sweetness of many of the flavor additives but I will suggest you try lavender. My friend served it to me and I was pleasantly suprised. The coffee still tasted like cofeee but had a pleasant lavender aftertaste. She picked up the concentrate at a local Whole Foods market which if you're not familiar with them, is a gourmet grocery food store that sells a lot of organic and health foods.

What my friend added was a liquid and came in a little jar that had an eyedropper application. It was specifically made as a food enhancement product so it was edible.

What sort of coffee flavours have you tried? Not sure if it is available to you, but add in some vanilla custard instead of milk. It gives the coffe a real creamy taste. I experimented with this when I ran out of milk, so I used a bit of the custard instead. I'm not talking about egg custard that you bake but the liquid custard that you can buy from the dairy section of your supermarket. If you can, give it a go. YUM! Oh how I miss coffee. :(

Do you guys have brandy custard over there at xmas time? It's similar to that, but vanilla flavoured. I guess it could be similar to vanilla milk, but custard is thicker and creamier. Goes really well on cakes and puddings instead of cream. YUM

I'm afraid I am far too much on love with the flavour of coffee to spoil it with any kind of 'added' flavours .. so a 'special' coffee to me would simple be a big mug full of steaming hot fragrant coffee .. to be sipped and savoured .. Vanilla might be nice in coffee .. I sometimes drink a brand of tea that has vanilla flavour added .. it's very soothing and relaxing ..

Substances called “vanilla flavour” don’t contain vanilla at all, being synthesized from eugenol (clove oil), waste paper pulp, coal tar or ‘coumarin’, found in the tonka bean, whose use is forbidden in several countries. From the time of the Aztecs, vanilla was considered an aphrodisiac. This reputation was much enhanced in 1762 when a German study found that a medication based on vanilla extract cured impotence — all 342 smiling subjects claimed they were cured.

I have a variety of the DaVinci syrups. I buy the sugar-free ones because I am dieting. These syrups are delicious to use for a varity of things including cofee. There are many, many flavors that can be used alone or in combinations! They are good in milk, smoothies, coffee, over ice cream ..countless ways! I like the to mix chocolate and mint in my coffee, caramel and vanilla and many more combos! They have a lot of recipes on the site! Enjoy! http://www.davincigourmet.com/

I'm sorry, I meant to add that if you have a WalMart nearby, they sell a few of the DaVinci syrups in the coffee section. I order mine from the site. A bottle lasts a very long time and one can even order the squirters! Some people in larger cities have found the DaVinci syrups in many other stores too. I only have a WalMart in my town so I have to order. (My WalMart only has the vanilla and caramel)

Have you thought about varying the kind of coffee you buy? Different varieties and different roasts can have markedly different tastes. I'm not a big fan of dark roasts, like a french roast, but, if you like somewhat bitter flavors, that may be one to try. I like a medium roast with a good acid balance. Sumatran is good stuff. If you are looking for something to add, try brewing with chicory. I buy roast chicory at the health food store, and add about 1/2 tablespoon to the grounds for a full pot of coffee. You can also cut the amount of coffee grounds, as the chicory makes the taste stronger. It has a nice, spicy taste and is heavenly if you also add cinnamon.

I like gourmet coffee, so I am usually happy with just milk. But I will also swiss miss, or a lump of chocolate. I like cinnamon. And those flavored creamers. I had an uncle who never had a cup of coffee with out his best friend, who made the coffee perfect, he said - the friend was Jack Daniels. A little bit of flavored brandy - cherry brandy really does add something but since you want this for breakfast - have you considered some extracts - the Watkins ones I think are the best, but I can only find them at the county fairs

well..when I have guests at home, I like preparing them my best CAPPUCCINO...do you like it? You need hot milk with lot of soft foam, hot Italian coffee...then you put a bit of cocoa powder on the top and serve it very hot in a cappuccino cup...or if you want to drink less coffee you can have a LATTE MACCHIATO, that is 2 over three parts of hot milk and 1 over three part of coffee, with much milk foam...when you prepare Cappuccino you add much more coffee, even half and half.

I drink a lot of coffee too. Though, I don't add anything to it, not even sugar. However, I once read on a forum that coffee tastes good when you add cinnamon to it. I tried this idea once and cinnamon actually gives coffee some exotic taste.

I do not drink coffee at all, but I have a lot of friends and family members who do. I know they use all the flavored creamers that are around. I think the icecream thing is very unique, but sounds good. I would think you could put chocolate syrup, butterscotch syrup, vanilla extract or maybe honey. Try cayenne pepper for a hot treat.

I love chocolate added to my coffee, and lately here in a S.Africa they are making a lot of chocolate desserts with chilli. So that might be interesting to try in your coffee. I have not tried it, but if you do, please let me know what it's like. Hope you enjoy!

If you like a minty taste, put a shot of peppermint schnapps in your coffee with a bit of chocolate powder. You can also try some of the syrups that coffee bars use to flavor coffee. I've seen some from Ghiradelli, but I'm sure other companies make them too. I don't know where you buy them.

By the way it is 10'oclock here, and I still have not drunk a coffee!! I stay at home today and that is why I did not hurried with it. But i am going to drink....
