Many politician do dirty tricks to stay in Power. Democracy is the same as Freedom (human rights). The whole picture is no longer a clean and honest election.

Democracy provides the best opportunity for every citizen to participate in the running of the nation and achievement of its desired goals and objectives. Masses are able to put their ideas and innovation into practice through their duly elected representatives. However, democracy can act as a 'double edged sword' if not handled properly. It can become a means of exploitation by the leaders of the very citizens who elected them to the corridors of power. There can be misuse of power by the politicians to serve their own ends rather than welfare of the society. To keep a necessary check on these representatives some kind of regulatory mechanism is a must. In a democratic setup none fits the bill better than media as a safeguard of citizen, their rights and privileges. One cannot question the immense responsibility shouldered by the media in a democracy. In fact the very success of democracy is directly proportional to how effectively the media performs. The role of media is not just confined to the political affairs but also includes socio-economic-secular and numerous other areas.
