I have a 05 Wrangler and am loving it. I have not lifted it yet but when I do I am more than likely going for a 4 inch suspension lift. I would recommend having it professionally done because of several diffrent reason. In my case it is going to void my warranty when I do lift it. If a professional lifts it then there work will be warrantied by them so you have something to fall back on if something goes wrong. It can take a while to do a lift and unless you have the time to totally dedicate to it, then it will take a while. I have heard that SkyJacker is good. I have hear that ProComp is ok but I had a friend that had some major problem with them so I personally am going with another company. Good Luck and Happy JEEPING

I miss my Jeep... I had a '97 Sahara - dual tops. Loved it. Had to trade it in once we started having kids... Now I drive a Suburban. As soon as my kids are gone, I'm getting another Jeep! But back to your question... Don't lift it! Please leave it as is. Don't ruin a beautiful Jeep.

Ruin a beutiful jeep? If done properly and reasonably, a lift can greatly improve the looks of a jeep. (By properly and reasonably, I mean within reasonable levels, and with suitable changes in other areas as well. For example, getting wider tires is essential to making a lift look good.)

i love jeeps, and i have to admit amazing stock. But with a lift so much sexier and so much more capable. I'm an avid off-roader and i have done things with stock jeeps you shouldn't but they ALWAYS make it. If they had a lift on it, it would have been no problem. So, you lifting it never ruins it! unless its a body lift and you have that ugly space between the frame and the bumpers

o man a crv, a crv hit my old '90 wrangler when i was at a red light. It was the one that rolled over, turned off and was totaled. ALL i had was a bent leaf spring a messed up hood latch and that is about it. My jeep was also still running.

Well, If your going to jack it up, you have to put new tires on it you know?! I drive a jeep also and as soon as I save up enough I am jacking it way up and putting some massive, mud slinging, tires on it.

my friend did that, if you use mud tires on regular roads, they wear out pretty fast, well a lot faster then other off-road tires. Though mudders look amazing, you will have to replace them pretty often if it's your everyday car.

well, it depends on you and what you are going to use your 93' YJ for. The best is a leaf spring suspension lift kit but they cost the most. poor man lifts which are still nice are like shackle lifts which are not bad, i have 2inch shackles on my 88' Wrangler Laredo which in turns gives me a full 1" lift in height. That allows me to put on 31's which makes the jeep a little high as well, there is a little rubbing but nothing is going to happen. This summer i will probably get a leaf spring lift though. Those are the only two lifts i personally like and trust. But there are a numerous way out there. Just remember body lifts aren't really a good idea unless you have to because of some skid-plate armor underneath that requires it. Also depending on high your suspension lifts are it starts to get complicated, such as pit arm drops, straightening out crankshafts, slip yokes eliminator for the drive shaft, and sometimes a change in ratio for the tranny to run bigger tires properly. which is why i just went for the shackle lift, and never higher then 2" shackles if it's going to be used on the road for the center of gravity gets way higher.
