Are religious schools an unfair anachronism? Are they threatening our society?

A lot of people don't like faith schools, even though many fall over themselves to get their child into one..unknowinig the fact that young men were being indoctrinated and groomed for terrorism...Yet the trend is towards more religious schools...like Islamic schools, Muslim, Sikh and Hindu schools. The Church of England plans to open more than 100 new schools by the end of the decade...what do you have to say ?

My grandkids are in catholic schools for one reason only, the classes are smaller so there is more one on one contact with the teacher. And I think they are doingmuch better than their friends in public school. The largest class in m,y grandkids school is actually kindergarten with 23 students one teacher nad one teacher's aid. Right now, My oldest, in grade 6 has only 21 students in his French Immersion class, compared to 35 in the FI class in the public school his best friend goes to. If they acvtually have Anglican schools here in Canada, we are definitely switching, but Catholic is the closest we can come to it.
