nope im not a very creative writer so ive never tried it but my husband writes poems and i keep every poem he writes me, if weve had an argument hell usually write a poem in one of my notebooks where he knows ill find it later and its always a nice surprise when i come across them, hes not great at communicating his feelings verbally so its nice to have the poems where he can more easily express his feelings

I have actually written poems for many people, including my husband. I love to write poetry so it really wasn't a big deal to me. Of course the people I give them to simply love it. My husband once wrote one for me and that was one of the best gifts he has ever given me. He is not much of a writer but the poem was terrific.

Actually, I have. I wrote one and gave it to my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. She loved it. :]

Many. It's what I am, and what I do anyway, and has been for about 57 years. The love of my life, inspires me to write, and share with her. I'll assume you and your boyfriend are much younger than I but I think it's a great way to express feelings of love for another. As a guy that may seem odd to other guys, though I know of and know many male writers and poets. I wonder, how he felt initially, and has he ever attempted the same, for you? I also wonder if he has ever re-read the piece, but think it shows some level of caring, that he still has it. In a general sense there is no sin in using a napkin, smiles. I often find myself with a thought, a line, even a word, I want to use and have no tablet or recorder close by; then I'll use anything handy to write on, even my other hand. I very much enjoy that "romance" is still alive in todays society. Steven Wolf

i think its sweet to write a poem for someone we love..my BF loves it. whenever we celebrate anything (e.g. valentines, anniv, christmas, his bday) he always asks me to write one for him. little did he know that i already have something already written for him.
