Integration among different races,religions,people

What do you think about the integration?Here in Italy a lot of times there are polemic debate concerning specially the acceptance of islamic religion.If you know,Italy is a country predominantly cattolic and a lot of people are adverse to the open of some mosques.A lot of italian people say that in islamic countries for example the ones of the Middle East, the governments don't admitt the concstruction of cattolic churches so why in Italy islamic people pretend the construction of mosques?
Some months ago in some school teachers taked off form the classroom walls the crucifix telling that the crucifix embarrassed pupils of others religions.There were a lot of polemics specially from the Vatican.
So I am asking you is this a right thing?Does the integration in very kind of form it's manifest,really exist?Why the men are not so inclined to live with different people?And is it a right thing that the religion could influence the society and governement behavior?I'm an orthodox christian and I want to belive in integration of religions too.

First thing, integration is not as easy as what said. Looking at history, human tend to conflict when come to religion and philosophy. In our country, islam is dominating. It's easy to build a mosque but not easy to build other kind of worship place. Although it's not fair, but we as then minorities, we have no say on such a matter. The goverment will prohibit us to openly discuss such 'sensitive' issue and let it be. But, we are still grateful that our societies have been living peacefully for half a century and no major conflict happened so far as what happened in other multi-racial country.

In todays world, we do have to take into account other peoples religion. As much as some people dont like it we have to think about their feelings.
Here in Australia we have had to make many changes to our attidudes towards things. But some of them are extremely rediculous.
They have banned all International flags from sporting events due to a few small groups whom have caused riots, but by banning those flags it also includes the Australian flag. Now this is wrong as far as Im concerned, if you live in Australia you should be allowed to fly the flag to say I am proud of my country.
