It is believed that when a woman is pregnant her labour will be easier if she can maintain an aerobic activity prior to becoming pregnant, because the healthier she is prior to pregnancy, the better prepared she will be during and after the pregnancy.

I believe that it's true. Plus the baby weight won't be so bad compared to non-exercising. The mother has to take it easy though. She shouldn't do anything strenuous.

If you exercised regularly before getting pregnant, then it is fine to exercise while pregnant. But, you can't overdo it. I mean, there are pregnant women who ride bikes and jog, but they were already conditioned. Of course, you should ALWAYS check with your doctor, but there is never anything wrong with going for a walk while pregnant. That is great exercise and it will keep your weight down AND help in the delivery and healing process.
