Why water appears in blue color?

i think its just the reflection of the sky colour......

Water will always be colorless. However, it is noticeable that as the water in the sea becomes deeper, its blue shade becomes more prominent. This is because, as the sea becomes deeper, the rays of the sun can no longer penetrate the thicker layer of the sea water. Supposedly, it should be black with the absence of light. But because we looking from the side where the sun strikes the water, a blue shade appears instead.
