I have a 2 mo old puppy @ home that is sick. I need some ideas for what I can give him @ home. Yesterday he puked 4 times and tha vet said to give him rice & hamburger.....wouldn't touch it. Today he ate a little bit(he IS drinking water) but his poop is runny...any advice??? Today I gave him his second round of shots; perk him up a little??

Try mixing a little bit of finely diced raw chicken with some dry dog food,if he doesn't eat it straight away either cover it and put it in the fridge or throw it out, don't leave it sitting around.lf he's not getting any better in a couple of days take him to a different vet.lf you just got your puppy, are you feeding him the same food he was eating before? Puppies tummy's get upset if you drastically change their diet, therefore you should gradually wean them onto whatever food you are going to feed them. You could also buy Puppy Milk from the supermarket to make sure he's still getting his nutrients.

Instead of the hamburger, boil some peices of chicken (safer than raw meat) and mix it with the boiled rice. His poop will probably be runny for a few days until he works whatever he has out of his system. What shots did you give him? 8 weeks seems a bit young to be on the second round of shots already, and the immunizations will often make a puppy lethargic and "off" for a day or two even if they weren't already sick, so I wouldn't expect them to help the situation much.
