Would you do this?

If someone offered you a large amount of money for some information about one of your company's products, would you accept it? (Assume you know you won't be discovered.)

I would not offer the information for several reasons. If I planned to stay with the company, I would be actually harming my own job. You don't poop in your own nest. Secondly, it is wrong. Being dishonest is not on my agenda whether anyone finds out or not. If you are willing to sell out the person who signs your paycheck then why would anyone have a reason to trust you? Why would you even trust yourself?

Great answer (just like Limo had above). itegrity is still integrity despite your motives. You still have to live with yourself later and we have that internal buzzer that goes off to tell us right from wrong. Thanks for your post.

you know, i hate to admit it but i kinda think i would knowing i would never get caught... i'm a little ashamed to admit that as it is a very bad thing to do... but at times i feel so sad at how hard i have to struggle to make it in life that i think i may do that.... i hope i'm wrong about that.... i still believe in karma and if i did that, i'd have many bad things bite me in the butt....

No because I honestly believe what goes around comes around two fold. To me it's just not worth the risk. Nobody else will need to catch me. I would feel so guilty that it would eat me up inside.

I know the right answert to this question is no it would be wrong. However being honest I think it would really depend... At the moment I am having money problems and with kids to feed sometimes integrity has to take a back seat. If we were talking a substantial amount of money; if it was not going to affect other peoples jobs, just the companys profits; if I could really use the money to make my childrens lives better; I think all the right circumstances I would say yes. It is a hard question to answer as until you are in the situation and know all the other factors, you cannot answer. In an ideal world I would tell my boss what i had been asked to do and be rewarded by knowing that I had done the right thing.
