If you found a wallet ...

Walking along an empty street, you notice a wallet. It contains $5,000 in cash, but no name or address. What would you do? Would it alter your decision if inside you found the name, address, and picture of either a wealthy-looking young man or a frail-looking old woman?

well if the wallet was 100% anonymous I would conduct my own little investigation to find out who it belongs to, if i came up with nothin i would take the money but still feel bad for the person who lost it. but if it contained any small piece of evidence refferin to whom it may belong then i would seach hard for it's owner

Someone asked me this question recently and your answer was very much like mine. I just have to consider that if I was the one who lost the wallet, I would really be thankful if someone had the integrity to go to lengths to make sure the money and the wallet were returned to me. It's only right that I do the same. Thanks for your post!

If I could possibly trace the owner of the wallet I would give it back regardless of who they were. I don't think it is honest to keep something like that. I would like to think if I couldn't then I would give the money to charity, but in reality I'm pretty sure I would keep it and use it to do a few jobs round the house like get my fence repaired and my central heating fixed.
