What reasons would you give a student who wants to drop out of high school? I'd like to list the top 10 but I can only think of two: 1) Most employers require a high school diploma. 2) High School graduates earn aproximately $200,000 more in their life time than drop out. Can you think of more reasons that would appeal to a teenager?

I graduated high school last spring. High School is not always easy and sometimes a huge pain in the butt. I can honestly say that having my high school diploma has made a huge difference in my life. I have matured and realized that if I can stick with school throughout college I can make more than a million dollars more than those who do not even attempt college. Stay in school, I know it is not easy, but in the end you will be glad you did.

10 reasons is a lot! I think maybe: 1) it will help you get a good job 2) it will make your parents proud 3) it will save you the stress of 'life' for a few more years 4) girls prefer guys who have an education 5) it is the only time in your life when you can get an education for free. 6) it will give you more time to work out what you want to do with your life 7) school will give you help with career choices in the future 8) you will still be able to socialise with your friends if you are working you will be at work when they are finished school 9) you wont have to pay rent to your parents if you aren't earning anything 10) you can do extra curricular activities for free

Studies show that people who graduate from high school earn a lot more money over their life time than those who do not. I wouldn't even think of not completing school in today's society. You hardly have a chance of making it. Quitting school early is like throwing $200,000 down the drain. Just figure out what you would make in a month if you got minimum wage and worked full time. Then figure out how much it costs to live. Add the average rent, utilities, food, auto, auto insurance, gas, clothing, etc. up and you will find that the minimum wage probably won't even cover it all. That doesn't even include expenses like doctors and dentists, and eye doctors. Then, if you get married and have children, that adds so much more, it is almost impossible to figure out how people could manage on minimum wage and that is all you would ever get if you do finish school, with maybe a tiny little raise once in a while.
