Tarsiers are regarded as the world's smallest primates and they are found mostly in Southeast Asian Islands including Philippines. The Philippine tarsiers which can now be found only in Bohol Island, has a huge eyes and long feet with extremely elongated bones. They can also turn their head 360 degrees!!! Can you do that??? lol. These primates have been one of the tourist attractions in Bohol and my girlfriend has actually touched one. She said it's really cute, I mean really cute with a size no larger than an adult's hand. Take a look at the photo I attached. That was taken by my girlfriend during their tour there. Amazing!!!

Did you know that humans are actually very closely related to the Tarsier? Our genetic code is only something like 3% different from theirs! Pretty crazy, huh??

I guess I saw one of those in cartoons and never thought that they would really exist.
The photo is amazing too! They seem to be very calm and that a plus because I like calm animals.

I have seen that too. I was amazed to see those little creature so unique and different. I have had my pictures of it and i can say that it was a different experience in Bohol. From where I visited they said that it's not good for us to touch them since they easily get sick when touched by humans, also they restricted us from taking pictures with flash since they eyes get easily irritated by the flash.

The first time I saw it in my friend's house, I got so scared and amazed on how tiny this animal is. The second time I was really in Bohol that time and it's like the the animal was up close and personal. I could feel their sense of freedom and security as they try to manage blending thier colors to nature. The next thing you'll know is that you are touching it already thinking you're holding a tree branch.

Yes! our neighbor's in Panama had them. I never could remember the name so I am glad for your posting. They are so *cute* in an odd sort of way, and quite friendly. Sadly one of theirs liked coming over to our house (duplex with them) and one day he decided to tease the dog, the dog who was chained grabbed a hold of him and broke some bones and caused internal damage. :(
