Who hates vacuum cleaners?

I don't mean, who hates vacuum cleaning, but who hates the cleaners themselves? They're noisy, they won't come when they're told, they always run out of cord when you've just got going, they tip over, the sulk in corners and won't come out, they lose their bits and pieces, and won't have anything to do with the bits and pieces from other older vacuums. Who hates them?

Hi, do you remember the old push carpet sweepers? I just bought a cordless electric carpet sweeper, very quiet, light and easy to use and it gets under everything and stows away neatly. Cost £25 in Cosco all the best urban

This sounds just like you, somehow, Urb...LOL! Yes, I remember these. I seem to remember when I was living in England in the 60s that they were quite common. Can't say I enjoyed the experience of using them, but still, when you think how nasty vacumm cleaners can be, these old fellows may be just the ticket!

I didn't read your post properly. A cordless electric carpet sweeper. That's not what I recall. No wonder I was laughing. The ones I remember used human energy for power!

I know what you mean about all the different types of vacuum cleaners. My parents had one for years that the cord would automatically wind up and it had a power drive on it. Just a few months ago it broke and there isn't anything on the market now to compare to it. Ever since my husband and I invested in our dyson vacuum, I've been in heaven. It's so quite, light, easily manuevers under and around everything, the parts are easily attached, no bags to mess with and the suction on that baby is awesome...it picks up everything.

Hmm...a Dyson. We had one of those - it was the most expensive vacumm we ever had - but it went the way of all vacumms after a while: bits broke, the suction wouldn't suck properly, and so on. It was a disappointing buy in the long term - for us! http://www.webitz.net

I hate vacuum cleaners. I despise and loathe them because no matter what vacuum I get they never work like they do on the commercials. I don't want to waste any money on vacuums so I end up sweeping the carpeting with a broom and that makes more of a mess. So, I really do hate vacuum cleaners. If I ever got one that worked well, then I would not hate them any more.
