Think of Mylot.com as one gigantic international university

That's exactly what it is, but you will see few PhDs hanging around here. Mylot.com is the "university of life" and I can say that I have learned a whole lot about other peoples' lives across the planet than at any regular college, and I'm being paid to learn this! Mylot.com could probably charge tuition if it wanted. This is as much a learning experience as an earning opportunity, and thousands of people are jumping aboard. I hope they stay around for awhile!

I am sure we all are learning about each other, culture, customs and traditions. It is so nice to be able to talk to people with different point of view from different sets of life.

You are so right. I have always preferred to learn in the university of life, and mylot is another great way to learn. The people here are great and share wonderful things. I love learning about the new cultures that I would otherwise not learn about. I love being able to have discussions with people from all over the world and all walks of life. This is a great place to get advice and support when you need it. I find that I am just loving the site and getting addicted to it. It is a great community and I too hope they stay around for a long time.

What a great way of thinking of mylot and you are right mylot is a gigantic international university, as we learn from others all over the world, you do learn a terrible lot here and the people you meet can be incredible wonderful friends, lucky that mylot do not charge us any money to have such a wonderful site.

I totally agree with you - we have it all at our fingertips here on MyLot - meeting new people, learning different cultures, solving each others problems, and sometimes just a hearing ear. MyLot has it all. Being born and dying is not important - what we do in between is! So let's make the most of it whilst we can, learn lots and enjoy the ride! Then when the time comes, we can say "Phew, that was exciting!"

We can far, far more than that. Mylot.com can become a political influence like the world has never known. I'm hoping, for example, we can get some members to join from Iran and tell us the real story from over there. OK, so Iranians are barred for some reason. How about some Iranian nationals who have close links to Iran to keep us informed? Things like that. If we happen to sell some toothpaste or DVDs along the way, so be it!

No, I am not. I am a journalist and I sell articles. I do have an interesting site about Asian music you might enjoy: http://www.writingup.com/blog/Radicalpatriot and please check out the different links to several excellent music videos. I enjoy music from other parts of the world. It is all great. Thank you for your interest and your kind query.

I agree with you and I have no intentions of going anywhere soon. I've learned so many things in the week that I've been here and it's been a wonderful ride. It's addictive to say the least! I've started to make some wonderful friends, I'm responding to more and more discussions per day and having a whole lot of fun at the same time. The learning experiences that you read here are better than any lesson. They're raw, tough and real. Sharing them helps other people to avoid making the same mistakes that others have made, and at the same time, there's a huge bond. I personally feel honored to be a part of this. Thank you once again MyLot!

This is quite a valid observation, because with so many members there is likely to be someone available to answer questions on virtually any topic. I have seen quite a few discussions were the poster has been asking for advice or information, and despite the obvious pointless responses that always appear there have been good productive answers submitted.

thats a nice way of putting it :) true it is a mix of culture, principles, beliefs. different people from different culture and background came to converge in this one area where we can air out what we have to say. but personally, in terms of learning, as in learning perse, i must say this is not so much of a good place to be for me... knowing what other people's experiences in life is mostly what people start discussing over, for me facts, data, information on issues and events are i think far more relevant than pure personal experiences... i dont know, and one more thing, i haven't encountered a PhD nor an MA here in mylot, professionals, yeah there are...

Granted, you have to cut through all the minutia and nonsense. I compare it to panning for gold and washing away all the dirt and gravel to get to the shining nuggets.

The university where we can learn things from the books or online, and professors. We are here to learn independently, share our opinion as well as working part-time or full time online and off line abroad, I don't think www.mylot.com would probably charge any tuition or any fee.

I am new here but have learned a lot already, the discussions are educational. I guess it's true in my case anyway... you can teach an old dog new tricks (haha)

i think mylot is just one of the few virtual universities around.it really teaches people things and allows people to interact too..

Thats a great analogy, I think you sum it up really well. we don't have phds but we have a little (or large in some cases) number in some brackets by our name and some of us even have a Star with a number on it, these are the mylot awards and degrees!
