Where do you sell your art/crafts?

I'm an avid painter, and I've managed to sell a few pieces via my blog and on www.etsy.com, but I need to sell more or I'll bankrupt myself on paint and canvas! Where do you all sell your art and crafts?

I agree about etsy.com. I've only sold two things there so far. I haven't had much luck with ebay either. Now and then I'll sell some at a Renaissance Faire or SCA event. So far I haven't found a great way to sell art.

I really want to try something like building a fair-sized body of work and approaching a commercial gallery with it, but I'm not quite confident enough to do that because I haven't sold much work in other ways.

Do you think it has sense to try stores that sell art and crafts? Like gift shops and stuff. I am going to try. I also will participate in the local craft fest this summer.

I sell my art on Ebay and Art By Us. I just started an art blog that I will be trying to sell my art from also. I am doing a different print for sell each week. Check out my blog at http://myartquest.blogspot.com it also has links to my other art sites.

You know the expression, starving artist? That's what we are. I too am a professional artist. I have had work in galleries, art shows, ebay, my web, and craft shows. Nothing you can count on for steady money. Most people are spoiled by cheap prices of prints from China. The art of creativity is something of the past, except for a few.

Is there a local coffeehouse or gallery that will show your work? I have a friend who sells small canvases pretty frequently through a cafe here.
