I look forward to the close of each day when I get to view the new free pattern of the day offered at the annies attic website. There is a good variety offered and while I do not care for all of them there is at least one or two a week that I print of in hopes of making them :) I say hopes of because I seem to be doing more printing than crocheting lately.

Thanks for the heads-up about free patterns. Annie's Attic has been around along time. Right now I am making my own patterns. But it's always good to see what other patterns are popular right now.
What kind of crochet do you like? Granny squares, filet crochet, amigurumi or what?

I do like Filet Crochet very much, as I love to see an image develop in the pattern, makes me feel more of a sense of artistry. I also like to make the delicate edgings on pillowcases for quick but cherished gifts to newly weds (a pair of goose feather pillows is also a nice addition to the gift) I am not sure what amigurumi is? I have done tunisian crochet which was quite enjoyable I think it is also called afghan stitch. I also like the effect of reverse crochet "crochet on the double" Granny's are not a favorite for me, but my 12 yo sure likes to make them. She taught herself how, she has such a difficult time following instruction, she does better to figure it out. She also likes to create her own patterns or do free style crocheting. For the most part, however, she enjoys making dresses and such for her's and her sister's dolls.

Thanks for the tip on Annie's Attic about the pattern a day. I didn't know they offered that. I have been crocheting on and off for years. When my kids were little I used to crochet everything, stuffed animals, shawls, even pretty barbie dresses for my little girl. But then life happened and I put it all away. Then the babies started coming in the family again, and I was asked to do a baby blanket. That was just over 10 years ago, so here I am hooked on crocheting again. I haven't tried to much besides the baby afghans, maybe a couple pair of booties, but only b/c I haven't found a pattern that is really pretty and dainty.... and easy, ha ha. Thank for posting this discussion and for sharing the website. I used to subscribe years ago to Annie's Attic magazine monthly. Way before computers, so I know she has a great reputation for good patterns. Hang onto those patterns, there will come a time in your life when it slows down again and you will be glad you printed out all those patterns.
